Title: Charles Cleveland, former UA basketball star dies at age 61 Post by: Jamos on December 28, 2012, 08:01:58 PM This is sad for me, as I was fortunate enough to know Charles and played summer league baseball against him when he attended Alabama. Charles was one of the best, if not the best athlete, that I ever saw. This guy was good at everything and was as humble as humble can be described. I have some good memories of our playing days. We had some chances to rehash some of those days after his professional career was over and there were many good laughs that we shared.
R.I P. :( http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/article/20121228/NEWS/121229834/1007?Title=Former-UA-basketball-star-dies-at-age-61&tc=ar Title: Re: Charles Cleveland, former UA basketball star dies at age 61 Post by: pmull on December 28, 2012, 08:28:12 PM Charles Cleveland, Leon Douglas, Wendell Hudson and TR Dunn were some of my first Alabama basketball heros. RIP Charles.
Charles was a very good player. We could use someone with Charles skills this year. Title: Re: Charles Cleveland, former UA basketball star dies at age 61 Post by: Leewillie on December 28, 2012, 08:30:35 PM Sorry to hear this sad news.

Newton started bringing in players like Cleveland, Douglas, Hudson and Dunn among others. Charles Cleveland was a great athlete and a heck of a BB player. We do, indeed, need more like him.
Thoughts and prayers to the family and sorry you lost a friend, Jamos. |
