For all of you softball fans that have wanted a chance to meet the players and coaches, this is the best chance that you can get. The Diamond Backers are sponsoring this day to help raise funds for a new scoreboard and can use any and all of the support from the fans that they can get.

 Parents and Grand Parents, this is a great chance for your kids and grandkids to get to meet all of the players and coaches as well as get to watch a scrimmage too. Please share this with any of your friends and family and let's see if we can pack the stadium to start the year off on a good note.

WHAT: Alabama Softball Appreciation Day
When: Saturday, February 2, 2013 @ 11:30 a.m.
Where: Rhoads Stadium and softball indoor facility

Fans will have the opprortunity to meet and mingle with the players, Head Coach Patrick Murphy, and his coaching staff. 2013 schedule cards and posters will be available while they last and the 2012 National Championship trophy will also be on hand and available for fan photographs.

The Diamond Backers Booster Club will provide a Southern style buffet for the fans in the indoor facility from 11:30 a.m./12:30 p.m. Coach Murphy will address the fans and preview  the upcoming 2013 season. Lunch will be followed by an open team practice and fans are encouraged to stay and watch the Tide prepare for the upcoming season.

After pratice the players will be available for a 45 minute autograph session. In order to expedite the autograph process and accomodate as many fans as possible, players will autograph one item per person.

Fans must enter through the main gate at Rhoads Stadium where they can purchase buffet tickets, tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. The Diamond Backers will have Booster Club information on hand and applications for anyone that would care to join.

Ha! no I better not share the password. We had a chance to watch half the game with Jessie and Kuiyam yesterday, enjoyed that. He would have stayed longer but the fans and cameras found him at halftime. Jessie said he couldn't wait to get to beach and the warm water, with the temps being what they are there, the water may be a lot hotter than warm.
