I saw the end of that. All I heard was his closing comment that maybe people should wait before memorializing someone for eternity. That is what about half of us have been saying all along. I'll have to watch and see the replay on HBO, but I'm thinking the bullseye of the segment was probably on the barn wasting public funds on a Heisman winner that may, in the near future, have to give it back.

I have never paid attention to Gumbel. He doesn't know anything about sports in my opinion. RTR!

What would HBO know about sports anyway???? Have they ever shown a LIVE sporting event?
 What would Gumbel know about sports?
 
 But I do have a question, and I have posted this on another board, so those who may follow both, bear with me please.
 
  Lets just say that we never put the statue of CNS up. Lets pretend that the PTB decided to wait until after CNS had left before putting up a statute. But, lets also say that CNS DID do something that spurned and / or embarrassed the University of Alabama. What does the school do now? Does the school put up a statue of a statue of a man who won an national championship but then embarrassed the program? Or look like a scorned little school girl and not put up the statue?

Gumbel hates black people ... so how is he still on tv ? oh wait ! it's HBO , never mind   

This is a good question. I would hate to have to decide But I think we know we have a coach with impeccable character and that is why they went ahead and put it up. JMHO. RTR!
