Title: Ole Miss Recruiting Post by: carl childers on February 05, 2013, 12:23:10 PM I don't know if it has been addressed on this board, but something just doesn't seem right about what's going on with Ole Miss getting all of these highly ranked recruits. Don't have any proof, but it just doesn't make sense - kinda like taking a filet mignon into a Porta Potty. What do y'all think?

I really think that Hugh Freeze coming straight from the HS coaching ranks, gives him an edge on building good relationships with HS coaches. That's the first step to good recruiting. And just maybe, he has taken a few pages from the CNS book of recruiting. I also think that Ole Miss trying to change their image of a Civil War themed legacy, has had an impact on recruiting black players. Is this the reason for their apparent immense success this year? Don't really know. Maybe they recruited the barn's bag man. Don't really know. Maybe they recruited the barn's bag man. Hugh Freeze has not been a high school coach for several years. He went to Ole Miss under Ed Orgeron, amazingly right after Michael Oher signed with Ole Miss. Orgeron recruited well but could not develop the talent. Many people thought Orgeron was recruiting illegally. Freeze is a good coach. He did well at Arkansas State and looks like he has Ole Miss headed in the right direction. I don't know how he is getting the recruits but he has a good class ready to sign tomorrow. Title: Re: Ole Miss Recruiting Post by: SUPERCOACH on February 05, 2013, 02:04:49 PM I would love to see us tell one of these high profile guys who wait until tomorrow that we can't take him because we don't have any more room. You snooze, you lose. Can you imagine having an ESPN press conference to announce that you are going to Alabama, and then having to turn around and have another one an hour later to announce you had to go somewhere else because CNS didn't get your LOI before he ran out of spots? That would be awesome.

Here's a good article about Ole Miss' recruiting from ESPN. http://espn.go.com/blog/sec/post/_/id/60071/hugh-freeze-challenges-critics-to-speak Title: Re: Ole Miss Recruiting Post by: Jamos on February 05, 2013, 07:05:40 PM I wonder what kind of entertainment they have over in Oxford. No big deal to me, I just considered him an asset to CRS when he was active on the forum. Title: Re: Ole Miss Recruiting Post by: McBaman on February 06, 2013, 10:30:11 AM As of a few minutes ago, ESPN has Ole Miss in the top 5 classes. Just doesn't make sense. Either something shady is going on or Freezer is a better recruiter than we knew or we are all missing something.
Title: Re: Ole Miss Recruiting Post by: Terrie1959 on February 06, 2013, 12:14:03 PM It's funny that you started this thread because as soon as Ole Miss signed the 3 top player, I looked at my husband and said that something was fishy about Ole Miss this year. I hope it's not but it sure is odd.
Chech left CRS? When did he leave? Why? Title: Re: Ole Miss Recruiting Post by: BAMAWV on February 06, 2013, 12:42:35 PM As of a few minutes ago, ESPN has Ole Miss in the top 5 classes. For some reason they play their best football against us. RTR!

They had some good coaches of course the "Bear" would teach them a lesson but they came close many times. RTR!
