Title: Does CNS know what he's doing?
Post by: bamalum67 on February 13, 2013, 07:53:50 PM
Yeah, just got your attention, didn't I?

Where are all the do-gooders out there who want to buy the poor babies(college kids) some ice cream and hold their hands and tell them fairy tales?  Ya'll hiding?

Let's call it like it is..it ain't DUI, it ain't weed, it ain't likker, it ain't smaking yo ho..it ain't skipping class, it ain't a lot of things..what it IS is:

violent, criminal acts by POS thugs.

Tell me that ain't right!

And I DO question CNS and staff on how the heck these thugs slipped under the radar !

No evaluation process is perfect.  I did my best but still made some terrible hiring decisions.  The HS coaches of two of the guys are as shocked as anybody, and they knew the players as well as anybody.  Nobody that CNS has put on indefinate suspension has come back to the team.  So these guys are probaby gone.

I have full faith in CNS but you never know about assistants.  ;)

Wow you really are stupid. How many have come through CNS and done the right thing, there is no full proof way to do what he does, there will always be that few that do stupid things everywhere you go.

If you don't agree with a post, attack the post but not the poster.
I know you don't post much on here, but we try to conduct ourselves like gentlemen. See McBaman's post above as a good example.

Most of these assistants have been around the Tide or the SEC long enough to be easily vetted.
Problems such as the 4 players under scrutiny are harder to foresee. I slugged a state trooper in Tuscaloosa (1976). Regret it to this day. I still wish I could apologize to the man. But I am certain he did not want my entire life to be defined by it or ruined over it. Some lessons come tougher than others. But what I did reflected solely on me. The University will take the hit and this too shall pass!

What I meant by my statement on the assistants was that in my past experiences some folks will try to "smooth" an issue out rather than handle it with a firm disciplinary action. I somehow feel that this instance of the players isn't their first and maybe someone knew about some other things that has happened with the them that might could have been handled in a different way and all of this wouldn't have happened. It's just a guess but it's something that I have witnessed before.

I admire your regrets of your past, so many people never learn to say I'm sorry. #+

Glad to see you agree that the acts were "stupid"..

And I don't consider myself stupid for commenting on the thuggery..merely relating my frustration with how in the blue blazes of hell could someone be so stupid as to give up a player position with a championship team, jeopardize a multi-million dollar NFL career, just to beat the crap out of a fellow human being, rob him of a few dollars, and use a debit card to buy a pack potato chips?

Also good to see the usual bleeding hearts on this forum have seen the light and realize this is far more than the usual "college kids being stupid" kind of shenanigans.

I still say that these thugs have exhibited character flaws that would indicate their innate thuggery..maybe the staff just overlooked such and thought they could prevent an explosion of the type we have just witnessed.

These people are just criminals, pure and simple, and should be introduced to the criminal justice system for punishment.
And no way in H*LL should they be allowed to return to the team, at any time, now or in the future. They are solely responsible for their actions, and must be held accountable.

That said, yes, I did some stupid things when I was young, but NOTHING of a criminal nature, or NOTHING to warrant jail!  I entered the U at age 18, and grad'd 3 years later, working a job supervising grown men at age 21, not beating the crap out of people and robbing them. Others of my generation  were getting shot at in rice paddies on the other side of the world..now we have thugs who have been babied their whole lives by momma/granmomma/auntie, and their HS coaches, have been taught their athletic skills are to be worshipped, and that gives them special rights..including the right not to have to act like normal humans.

Yes, there is forgiveness for wrong actions in our world..but what most people forget is there are also CONSEQUENCES for our actions.

I am not smarter than CNS on any of this..but I do know that if any organization, including the team, does not rid  stink of this sort and any others like it, you can bet that rot will start and be harder to get rid of.

Well I admire the guys on this site. There does not have to be a lot of degrading remarks, and vulgar words to harm someone's character. This is an Alabama discussion board which perfects our knowledge by sharing and receiving. I agree with the post, cause I was one of them hiding in the rice patties. RTR!

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you on that.  I just read through all of the posts where someone quoted you in a reply and didn't see anything disrespectful.  There could have been something I missed, if so please correct me.

Perhaps you are remembering something that happened back on the old tidesports forum?  I was attacked many times myself over there.
