Title: BDS ranked no. 1 in nation for "stadium experience"

And "old, rusty, lifeless" Legion Field is next to the bottom.

I know some Auburn fans that did not have such a great "stadium experience" the last time they were there.

I think most of us would like a chance to re-write the descriptive paragraph for it says nothing of the physical plant and the architectural flow of the campus. But I guess #1 is still #1. RTR

Poor old Legion Field. How many great games I saw there. What would Coach Bryant and Shorty Price say?

I hate to see Legion Field become what it is. I grew up in B'ham. I played a few high school games there. I sold cokes at Bama games just to get in the stadium. During the Bryant years all the big games were played there. In the 70's and 80's I argued Legion Field was one of the best venues in the country. It was doomed once Bama took all the home games to Tuscaloosa. However, I like the games much better being on campus.

The very first college game I ever attended was Ole Miss vs Alabama at Legion Field, so it's pretty special to me as well. Been to a lot of great games there.

Same here...my first college game was the Bama - FSU 37-37 tie at Legion Field...hate to see it getting so run down.  :-\

I think the surrounding neighborhood helped the urgency to move the games out of B'ham also, it was a pretty tough area.

The surrounding area is terrible. I wonder how B'ham Southern deals with that neigborhood?

I, too, hate to see LF in such condition. I was at the UA-ND game in '86, and that pacle was rocking. I also was there in 1996 when Kitchens hit Riddle with 30 seconds left to beat the barn. A shame such a historic site has fallen so badly.

Maybe the city government of Birmingham had a little to do with it's demise also, they've been known to make a mistake or two. ;)
