I said earlier in the week we will know more about our team after playing No. 21 Southern Miss and going on the road to play a good Florida Atlantic team. We opened the season at home against Florida Atlantic and they swept us. He pitched 5 innings and gave up 1 unearned run on 3 hits. He walked 2 and struck out 7. We used 4 relief pitchers over the final 4 innings. They gave up 7 runs, 6 of them earned.
The offense was effective again. We scored 10 runs on 8 hits. We had 4 doubles, 1 triple and Booth's HR. We are showing a little pop in the bats. A tip of the cap to the 3,124 that attended the game.
