Time to make your predictions.  Will we make the NCAA men's basketball tournament this year?  Will it be March Madness or March Sadness for Tide fans?

I say we will make it in based on finishing pretty high in the conference.

In. All we have to do is keep winning. If not, there is always the SEC Tournament automatic bid if we win.

With Ole Miss losing to South Carolina tonight, it helped Bama's chances.

I'll fess up that I voted "no" because to be sure we'd have to win all our remaining games and given the erratic/inconsistent play of this team I don't put very high odds on that happening.  But that's the part we control.  If some other teams loose some games, our chances get better even if we don't win out. Even so, still tough odds on getting in.

I think we can lose to UF and still get in if we take care of the other teams.  We should win the others without too much trouble if we don't have another meltdown.

UF lost to Mizzou last night, so we are only 1 game behind them now.  We play 2 more games before we go down there to play them.  We should win them both to set up a showdown for the regular season championship.

Too bad we don't have a prayer of beating them.  :lol:

I have a feeling the team is going to lose to Florida and throw away either the LSU or Ole Miss game.  I hope I'm wrong of course, they've just been so inconsistent this year. 

I think we get in if we win 4 of our remaining regular season games with the loss coming at Florida.

I think we get in if we win 3 of the remaining 5 provided we finish 2nd or 3rd in the SEC, which is likely, and we win 1 SEC Tourny game. By finishing in the top 4 we will get a bye in the first two rounds so we will not have to play until Friday. One win puts us in Saturday's semi-final game. IMO we are in at that point and playing for seeding.

2 years ago I thought we were in for sure. I was wrong. Hope I'm not wrong this time.

A lot of people are comparing our odds of getting a NCAA bid to the 2011 Tournament which we did not make. IMO that is not a good comparison.

We went 8-6 in non-conference play with 0 quality wins. We lost to every good team. We went 12-4 in SEC play which was good for best in the West. The West was terrible. All the good teams were in the East. We played all West teams twice and East teams once. We got quality wins on UK, Tenn and UGA but the 9-1 west record did not help us.

UK, Vandy, Florida and Tenn all deserved to be in. Most thought that the weak SEC, other than the top 4, would only get 4 bids. Somehow UGA got in (we beat them twice) and there was no way the SEC was getting a 6th team. In the end our RPI in the high 70's killed us.

This year there is no East/West. Finishing 2nd in the SEC would be huge. We also have some quality wins in non-conference play. We have to over come bad losses to Tulane, Mercer and the barn. Most importantly we need to get our RPI in the low 50's, or better yet, the 40's.

We always have a prayer to have anything.  ;D  :clap:, RTR!

To the question at hand, yes, I think we get in by the skin of our teeth.

Was it just last year we got our poles smoked (last game or next to last) by UF to get 2nd in the SEC regular season? Lost by 20 or 30?

Two years ago when we went 12-4 in the league. We had an easy West schedule. The East got UF, UK, Vandy, Tenn and UGA in the tourney. The West got none.

I'm more worried about LSU this Saturday than I am about any of the others left on the schedule. This is a road game and as like all of the 5 games left, it's a must win. There's no sense in worrying about the other games until we take care of the next game, but it is fun to speculate just a little bit. Some of you have mentioned that Bama should win some of these last 5 games, which ones are they. The way Bama has been playing, I don't think there is a game left where they are a clear favorite. :dunno:

LSU is 12-2 at the Maravich Center. They lost to UF and USCe (OT) back in mid-January. JOB III had a career game in Coleman-- 22 pts. and 11 boards.

Bama had better go into this game with a better attitude than what they did in their last game or they will get a dose of what the barners did to them. ;)

I'm good. We have an uphill battle but this team is showing me more determination than I thought they had in them. I am going to stick with them to the end.

Yep, I'm the other ham sammich.  I think it could go either way, though being left out might be the best thing to happen, this team would do better in the NIT, plus they need something to motivate them to push through to the end of games next year.

I'm also a ham sammich because Bama has a better chance to make some noise in the SEC tournament than the NCAA tournament, and I'm more excited about our chances there.

My heart sank a little with the LSU loss, but my "no" vote certainly is looking better. Sadly, I will stand pat.

Not so fast my friend!  Bama has to beat Georgia, and has to win at least its first game, maybe two, in the SEC Tourney, but it isn't out yet.  Still on the bubble.

The situation definitely looks bad, but I follow SC and will ride my yes vote to the end.

What could or would happen if we got to the SECCG and we beat Florida at that time. Winning the SEC tourney should put us in the big dance. RTR!
