Title: Alabama Gymnastics Ties Arkansas, 197.100-197.100
Post by: pmull on February 23, 2013, 08:55:59 AM
Alabama had its second highest score of the season and best road score but it was only enough to tie Arkansas. CSP was pleased with the score. Any score above 197.0 is very good. Even though we have 2 losses and a tie this team is getting better each week. We need to peak right at SEC and NCAA Tournament time.

Quote
The No. 4 ranked Alabama gymnastics team tied with No. 19 Arkansas with both teams posting scores of 197.100. It was the Crimson Tide's highest road score of the season and the second highest score of the season.

"I'm so pleased with how our ladies stepped up tonight," UA head coach Sarah Patterson said. "It was our second highest score of the season and our second 197 in a row. I definitely think we're moving in the right direction. "

I'll be honest, I did not even know a tie was possible in gymnastics. This is the first time I have ever heard of one.

I've never heard of one either.  They are statistically pretty rare.

It is like golf. You have no control over your opponent. You score the best you can and hope it is more than the other team. Sometimes it is the same but like SC said it is rare.

I guess I should have said that I had never heard of a tie. Intellectually speaking, I knew that it was possible.
