Title: Comprehensive Breakdown of NFL Team Needs Post by: crtuneman on April 22, 2011, 08:41:51 AM This is pretty long, but interesting if you're curious as to what team needs are in the draft. This is a very comprehensive breakdown for each NFL team. It looks like the Panthers are goign to go with Newton after all. It sucks for them, because I still don't think he can make it in the NFL. IMO, he lacks the football IQ to adjust to NFL defenses. But the no 1 pick is always a crap shoot, and sometimes tou have to take a chance I guess.
Dream scenario: All indications are the Panthers are going to shoot for the moon and draft Auburn quarterback Cam Newton with the top overall pick. Although they are aware of the downside, the Panthers realize Newton’s upside could make him the type of quarterback that comes along once a decade or so. No, really. Most Bama fans think he'll crash and burn, so where better to start than at the top. :P I expect him to start by game 3 for them, and promptly melt down. It might be domestic battery, maybe drugs, or maybe he'll just FAIL on the FB field. But I expect bad things to follow him. Panthers new coach Ron Rivera is a defensive oriented coach. I think the first pick will be either Peterson or Dareus. I am leaning toward Dareus going number 1.

Most sources say Carolina has still not made a final decision. They may shock everyone on draft day and say no to Cam. I kinda hope they do draft Cam, though, because that would make his eventual bust label that much more epic. RTR! True, Denver would be a better team. But just think of the prestige of being the #1 draft choice. Also that would look really good to Bama recruits. |
