The SEC Tournament starts Wednesday night at 5:30 with USCe and Miss St followed by A&M vs Auburn. There will be four second round games Thursday. Alabama has a bye into the quarterfinals on Friday. We play at 2:30 Friday afternoon.

I had been wondering how Alabama ended up with the #4 seed when we finished in a 3-way tie for second with Kentucky and Ole Miss. I just found out.

First tie breaker is head-to-head. UK beat OM, OM beat Bama and Bama beat UK. Still tied.

Second tie breaker is who beat the highest seeded team, in this case Florida. OM and Bama both lost to Florida on the road. UK also lost to Florida on the road but they also got to play them at home and beat them. Their 1-1 record is better than out 0-1 record. UK # 2 seed. OM and Bama still tied.

Third tie breaker is head-to-head of the teams that are still tied. OM beat us.

IMO the tie breaker sucks. It is not fair for a team to get two shots and one of those are at home while our only shot was on the road. What makes it worse is we beat UK head-to-head and had the tie breaker over them.

The "experts" are expecting Tennessee to play Alabama on Friday. I like that match-up and gives us a chance to redeem ourselves for an ugly one point loss to them, a game we should have won. Our likely opponent would then be Florida. Bring it on!

That loss was gut wrenching. A lot of orange to hate on this trip. I think I remember Stokes getting 16 pts and 16 rebounds (or close). I wonder how that happened?

There will be a lot of UT fans in Nashville this week. We should get the Vandy folks pulling for us though.

I see us playing better than ever in this tourney. Call it hope or just over believing. I just have some thoughts that CAG might be ready to prepare and get on with the game. RTR!

We are 2-0 at neutral locations-- that must have been that tourney in Nov. We need to at least be in the championship game. Hope you are right, Preacher!

If the "good" Bama shows up, we can win the whole thing.  If the "bad" Bama shows up, we could get blown out in the first game.  The problem is that both teams usually show up at some point during the game.

That number 4 seed unfortunately puts us on the Florida side of the bracket, with Tennessee the likely first opponent.  Tough road.

It is tough, but I think we can beat Florida at a neutral site.  We had them by 8 midway through the 2nd half at their place and let them come back on us.  I think the sense of urgency this time around might help push them to victory.

What is this "sense of urgency" thing of which you speak?    :-\

That's something this team has yet to discover.

I like our draw. Tenn and UF will be a difficult road to the final but their is no easy path. I look for Missouri to be as good as anyone and a difficult matchup for us due to their post play.

You can count on Leewillie and 5 of his Bama friends being there decked out in Crimson.

I'll be in Nashville this weekend.

Look for me, I'll be wearing a Bama pull over and a baseball cap. 8)

The talking heads are saying that Alabama will have to win the SEC tourney to get in the Big Dance.

Not leaving anything to chance, but it also depends on how others play in their tourneys.

I heard that too. I have also heard the winner of our game with Tenn is in. I don't think the talking heads know any more than we do. A lot depends on what other non-SEC schools as well.

True.  It will help us a lot if the other tournaments are won by teams that are already in.  If a bottom feeder or bubble team wins a conference tourney and gets the automatic bid for that conference it makes it harder for us to get in without winning the tourney.

LSU beats Georgia 68-63.

UGA game back from 20 down at the half to make it a good game. They got to within 2 points with one minute to play.

UT beats Miss St with ease 69-53.

UT advances to play Alabama at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon.

I have been watching the Big East & ACC tourney. These early SEC games are crap.
