Cool.  I've been getting emails from CBS, based on my account last year I suppose.  But yeah, no point until the bracket comes out Sunday night.

That is why I posted it early. I cannot see what you guys do when you go to sign on. But it sounded like they expected me to use the e-mails from last season and then any new players by manually entering their EM addresses into an invite box. There is a way to invite off-line players-- but I'll have to see how.

BTW, just to be clear-- all of you signed up as a CBSSPORTS member prior to going to the CRFORUM website to begin entering picks? You have to see "Hello, Preacher" or whatever on the CBS homepage before you try to enter.

The EM invite you received is no good. I had to change the password (could remember last years) to get in. Then PMull had trouble so I started a brand new one. Much more difficulty and we'll switch to ESPN. I opened one there also so we could have multiple entries if we wanted them)

I have looked and looked for a way to search for the league name. Normally you find the league, enter the password and you are in. I can't find a way to search for the league. I messed with this for about an hour yesterday waiting on the baseball game to start.

We have to figure something out.

It may be set up so you can only join by invitation. My son is signing his friends up as we speak. I hate to do it that way but I can send an invite to anyone that sends (PMs) me a e-mail address.

I am in. I even have my first draft picks entered.

Send BAMAWV a PM with your email address. He will send you an invitation. It is very easy once you get the invite from WV.

Sorry I won't be able to play. I read the CBS "Privacy Policy" before trying to sign in. There is no privacy is the gist of their policy. If I can, I will post my bracket on this site.

The Tournament starts Thursday. Do not forget to PM BAMAWV with your email so he can email you the invitation to join the league. The more who enter the more fun we all have.

SC gave out some nice e-cred's last year for those who did well.

I'm in. Normally I am not a good judge of teams, but I thought I would go with Louisville this year over Georgetown in the title game. So, if you want to do well, steer clear of picking these two teams.  :lol2: :lol2:

You have to sign up for CBSSPORTS.COM-- go to:

Look at the top of page and it'll say login/register. You must do that first. Hint: where it ask for your name--use your screen name (Preacher or Ricky023). After you have registered --use the link on the invite.

This first round scoring is a little different than I am used to. It is probably best I did not try and pick the upsets because I would have picked the wrong ones. Overall I got 12 out of 16 on day 1. New Mexico is my only team that lost yesterday that I had going another round.

I checked a box that changed the scoring. The traditional way is 1 point for one win. The way this is scored (only changed for the 2nd rd.) was that the #seed is added to the 1pt. on a win,  so making a gutsy call does not go unrewarded. I meant to put that up for discussion before the Tourney, but I hadn't anticipated all the confusion getting everyone signed up.

No. The seed # plus 1 for points is only the second round. It goes back to traditional from there if I understand correctly.

FYI. Round one is the first four and round two is the Thursday/Friday games this week.

Also, the scoring doubles as the rounds progress-- rd. 1+ 1pt per win; rd.2 =2pts. per win; rd. 3=4pts per win: rd. 4=8pts; etc.

I am in last place.  :(

It seems I normally do OK on day one but Friday games get me every year. I only lost two teams I had advancing to the Sweet 16 (Georgetown & New Mexico). I still have everyone alive past the Sweet 16.

Even though I picked Georgetown I was pulling for FGC to win. I had never heard of FGC until they beat Mercer in their conference final last week to make the NCAA.

I missed too many 8-9 & 7-10 games in the second round. That is where you get the big points. I am middle of the pack with the number of correct picks. My big guns are still alive.

Ah, if you're going to be commish you shoulda said this up front.

Probably doesnt matter, but some might have picked differently, so it gives you an unfair advantage as the only one who knew the screwy scoring.  You should change it back if possible.

Im right in the middle, only one who picked Miami to win it all (over Louisville, the popular choice).

BUt Im on Dauphin Island right now, so no worries.

Sorry I changed this before putting it up for discussion. I meant to but AGAIN, I had not anticipated it being so hard just to get everyone signed up (invitation only). Easy enough to reverse but it will have to be scored the old fashioned way once the tourney ends. BTW, the only one that could have taken advantage of the scoring difference was me (no one else knew),  I'm not smart enough to figure out how to make my picks while taking assessing the risk/reward of seeding management. It was all I could do just to make my picks and remember to hit "save".

I checked a box that changed the scoring. The traditional way is 1 point for one win. The way this is scored (only changed for the 2nd rd.) was that the #seed is added to the 1pt. on a win,  so making a gutsy call does not go unrewarded. I meant to put that up for discussion before the Tourney, but I hadn't anticipated all the confusion getting everyone signed up.e

Yeah, might as well keep it as is.  I know it took some effort on your part to get this going, so thanks.

Ditto...Thanks  #+

Yes, pmull...I will show you this perfect bracket I filled out here on my desk right after the tourney is over.

I'm not doing so well...I'm not really sure why I expect any better when I watch little college basketball outside of Bama games and don't do any research.  It's the same thing every year, and I still get disappointed.   :dunno:

I also watch little basketball other than Bama games, and do no research (what's the point, everyone has an opinion).  One year I actually won my company's pool with that method -- the key is to get the right teams in the finals, and pick the winner.

Before last night, if I had gotten every one of the rest of the games right the best I could have possibly finished was 7th and that would have been only if everybody else had gotten every one of the rest of the games wrong...and that wasn't possible   :(

Yep. Michigan is shooting 51% and 66% from 3 (7-11) and is out rebounding UF 21-13. Bad combination for Florida. Hopefully the change of rims will get the Michigan guys off to a slow start and UF can make a run.

Florida got whipped.

Then Louisville whipped Duke, like you rarely see.

In case you missed it, Louisville player Kevin Ware suffered a Prothro-type injury, a broken leg with the bone poking through and the leg dangling below, during the first half.  This is a link with an image of it, if you are inclined:  http://pix11.com/2013/03/31/kevin-ware-leg-players-faces-show-shock-and-awe/#axzz2PANvntYi (http://pix11.com/2013/03/31/kevin-ware-leg-players-faces-show-shock-and-awe/#axzz2PANvntYi)

The game was tight before the injury, but in the second half Louisville went on a huge run and put the game away.

I'm not sure that I've ever seen a poorer coached game than Ohio St vs. Witchita State.  Ohio St refused to use any of their match up advantages and instead launched 25 three point attempts.  These weren't in a dire attempt to get back into the game, they were the cause of what got them OUT of the game in the first place.  Ohio State shows up and executes a proper gameplan and they win by a dozen.

Hey ricky, pitching has been a little suspect, but the guys have been hitting the daylights out of the ball. They have taken two of the first three series (2 of 3 from Tampa and 2 of 3 from Boston; lost 2 of 3 to Twins), and first baseman Chris Davis has been a beast so far (400 avg., 6 homers, and 19 RBIs). I also like our new shortstop Manny Machado, who hit a three run homer in the 9th Wednesday night to win the game.

No one responded so I suggest the following. We had three entries who are not CRS members to my knowledge so I skipped them. If I am wrong about them being a member that would need to be corrected.

Also give the commissioner +10 for making this the hardest contest I have ever seen to enter and choosing a first round scoring system no one understood all his hard work.

2 ricky          15
3 Hannibal L.  10
4 pmull           5
5 Will Tuley
6 Catch Prothro  4
7 Wesley Ford
8 Too Stater       3
9 BamaBoyStuck InTexas
10 Leroy            2

This is not final and just a suggestion for SC to review. If anyone wants to make a different suggestion for SC to consider please feel free.

CBS made it so they'd get everyone's sign on membership in order to enter. They also got e-mail addressses. I tried to format it like we usually have, by posting a web site and a password, but CBS wanted user IDs for everyone.  ESPN was easier but there was no way to control the # of entries per person. Being king commissioner isn't all its cranked up to be. RTR

I protest. The commissioner needs to look into this matter immediately. Ricky and Preacher teamed up to make the picks. Teams are not allowed. You know, two heads are better than one. I expected something like this from Ricky but I am really surprised at Preacher.

That Preacher guy is OK, but I don't trust Ricky as far as I can throw him. JMHO

How did you get left out on the E-CRED bonanza when 2S and Chech (and a couple others) were giving away 20-30-40 a day to one another?
