Cyus Jones, Christion Jones, Dee Hart practiced with the DBs today.  Hart still in a black jersey.  Looking for depth?

Saban experimenting in the Spring, and Bama needs DBs.  At under 6 feet, the Jones's are not tall enough to be considered top receivers for the next level.  Christion Jones was a great DB in HS, and  although also a very good receiver for Bama so far, DB might be a better fit for him professionally. Cyrus Jones also played some DB in HS and was recruited as an athlete.  Dee Hart is trying to get on the field -- at RB he would be third string at best.  He has great speed and is an athlete and football player, so he might be able to transition.  Backup DB would get him on the field more than as a RB -- as RB he would be a niche player.

And all 3 would have potential at kickoff/punt return duties ala Arenas.

I think the quality play of KD enables the move for DH to defense.

I think it helps receivers to know the DB fundamentals. They could be looking at depth or they could be sending a message to the DB's that they better bring their best to practice or they will be replaced.

Whatever it is CNS has a plan.

I've heard people claim to know that part of the staff's strategy for Dee working out some at CB is to get him mentally trusting his body for full range of motion again without having to worry a tackler going down on his knee.  They're hoping it will speed that process up for him.

Quote
Freshman Derrick Henry, a 245-pound tailback who enrolled in January, could be in line to share the load with the departure of Lacy, the BCS championship game MVP, who replaced Cleveland Browns tailback Trent Richardson. He has already made an impression on teammates.

"We were talking about it on the sideline, me and a couple of the players, how Henry looked like a bigger version of Trent Richardson," Mosley said. "But you have to do what you have to do. So we've got to make him better and he's got to make us better. He came in and killed the first quarter program. So I'm excited to see what he's gonna do when we start our first scrimmage."
