Title: Tarrant leaving Tulane, is Alabama an option?
Post by: Jamos on April 03, 2013, 09:04:27 AM
Ricky Tarrant, the No. 2 scorer on the Tulane University basketball team, said Tuesday that he would transfer from the Green Wave program, causing speculation that the University of Alabama might be a destination.

This is another article by Scarbinsky giving more detail of the story.

I think we have a good shot at getting him. He will have to sit out next year (Releford's last year). He knows our players well and he wants to play closer to home. I would like to add those 15 pts a game to our line up.

On the surface, it seems like there are nothing but positive for both sides (if he came to Alabama).  We can spare the scholly, and he's a talent.  Alabama offers him the closest respectable program to be able to finish out his career.

I would love to see his talent brought here. As, was said above those 15 points a game would have won us a few games this year. Best of everything on your choice young man. God Bless. RTR!

If we get him he will not be able to play next year. Releford will be gone by then. Our problem is not too many guards. Our problem is having scholarships that went unused when we needed post players.
