Well, we will see how this plays out. I'm hoping they go down in flames, but we will see. They have been down this road with the aubies before. Maybe something will finally stick.

Get ready for a lot of lying, cover-ups, & blaming Alabama and the REC for paying off the 3 Auburn players to snitch out their own team.

This is going to cause some howling in Gainesville.

Quote
"Coaches would say, 'Don't tell anyone where you got it from,'" Blanc said. McNeil recounts a meeting with then-defensive coordinator – and current Florida coach – Will Muschamp in 2007:

"I had no clue what it was about because I'd never directly asked him for anything," McNell said. "He slid about $400 over to me. He went into a drawer and gave me money and said, 'Is this enough? Is this good?' And I said, 'Yeah, I'm good.'"]

These stories have been coming out of Auburn for a few years now.  Usually that means something is going on, but I'll wait until something sticks before jumping off the couch.  The NCAA let SCam Newton play, after all.

Several players quoted n the story are denying their involvement and claiming they were misquoted.

Well as we know auburn has been found in foul before but the NCAA let them get by with it. So I am not getting my hopes up for anything. Will truth come out, I don't know but I would toward, the truth will not come out. :o RTR!

Not surprising and what I expected would happen. Their former teammates probably called them and reamed them out, plus wealthy boosters passed along some hush money. Auburn has had a lot of practice with this drill.

There is a never ending supply of teflon tape at the barn. This will not stick, either. It is, however, fun to watch them squirm.

I can't imagine this reporter would destroy her career by fabricating quotes or changing the context (not sure how the latter would be done in this case anyway).  But we'll see.

In some sense I don't really care because I don't Auburn being able to compete with Bama anytime in the near future, but if they cheated I want an * forever next to the 2011 BCS Championship Game.

The barn is going to have a hard time pinning this on Alabama, REC, CRS or anything else Alabama related. The writer, Selens Roberts, is an Auburn grad and former editor of the school newspaper. This is an inside job done by one of their own.

Outstanding!  Maybe she has an ax to grind with some former players.  Maybe she went to class and earned her grades, while some players where in the same class and got a free ride.  You go girl!

Selena Roberts graduated fro Auburn in 1988. The barners are trying to pass her off as some second rate wantabe writer. She has been in the industry for over 25 years and worked for The New York Times and Sport Illustrated. She has a nice resume.

I always get hopeful when the stories come out, and then end up disappointed. To avoid that this time, I will temper my anticipation over this one, although I do love the smell of a burning barn in the morning.

What is considered factual information in an investigation. The NCAA says they found nothing in their investigation of Auburn, but yet an independent writer has all kinds of stories of wrong doing at Auburn. Even though some of the players are saying that she misquoted them in her article, she says she has tapes of what she reported. Mark Emmert is saying that it's just another media article and has no merit, but yet one of the players that is involved in the whole mess is singing like a canary of what has been going on down there way before the robbery.

I'm wondering now if some of the parents might get some legal action going against the untouchable Auburn program, it's a fact the NCAA will never take any. I'm hoping that this might happen and some of these players or others that have information would have to testify under oath as to what really has been going on down there.

WRONG!!! No doubt this is a deep conspiracy by the REC, rich alumni, & even Nick Saban who are afraid of Gus Malzahn and the mighty Auburn football program. Auburn would never cheat like this, even though they are the 2nd most penalized program in NCAA history. The woman reporter was probably jilted by some stud athlete when she was there and the money we can give her would easily make her lie. I hope they don't find us out on this.

This story is getting aired in the media now, including news sources and ESPN.  Another embarrassment for the Barn.  Auburn's reaction is that, "we didn't know she was investigating this, we thought it was about the robbery."  They sound miffed that the story was different than they thought, like they wouldn't have granted her access to people had they known.  But the Teflon tape is out, we'll see if anything sticks this time.

Too bad Finebaum is off the air right now. He would be stirring this Auburn stuff up good. I did not see it but he was interviewed on ESPN yesterday and said that everyone outside of Auburn already looks at their 2010 season as a tainted championship.

I saw this on College Football Live yesterday. Paul never did stir anything up that I could tell. He just seem to be sitting back and smiling. RTR!
