Title: Honeybonger
Post by: hscoach on April 12, 2013, 09:26:25 PM
On ESPN radio out here in Tx they were saying Honeybonger said he tested positive at least 10 times at LSU then lost count. Anyone else get this story?

Yep, it was on the local news here in Bama. Not really surprising, in fact I think the figure of 10  positive drug tests was mentioned when he was kicked off the team.

They obviously gave him his second chance, and his third, and his fourth...

Amazing, isn't it? I think I read somewhere that the decision to remove him from the team was forced on Miles because the Administration saw the problems associated with a player who was basically thumbing his nose at the the rules & LSU.

If former LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu is telling the truth, he was on a very long leash at LSU.

According to an NFL assistant coach who spoke with USA Today, when his team asked Mathieu during their interview how many drug tests he had failed in college, Mathieu responded, “I quit counting at 10. I really don’t know.”

While Mathieu’s former dependence on drugs (reportedly speaking) is an obvious red flag for NFL teams, the aforementioned assistant coach also pinned a lot of the blame on LSU.

“If he flunked 10 tests before they suspended him, it shows that he got no kind of help,” he said.

Hopefully, whatever team takes a risk on Mathieu can provide him that help.

I guess smoking dope all the time sure explains the "losing count" part. LOL

Yeah, but imagine their confusion when Alabama is ramming it down their throats and it goes 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 1, 1.

 :duh:

When his coach forgets, then there's a real problem.

I'm a little confused myself--11 1st downs?  ??? Even 10 1sts downs and a 1 yd TD run has me befuddled.   ???

Indeed, you are confused.

I count 11 PLAYS and 7 first downs, one of which starts the drive... meaning the drive picked up 6 first downs.
