Post by: Old Tider on April 25, 2011, 05:06:05 PM
Of all the teams in the country, they sure picked the right one:

They'll fire the writer for penning a story about college football during hockey season.

I say, "Fire him for incompetence."

I hardly read the article. My point was, look who they chose as the nation's famous team. They would never say "We are not Auburn."

Okay, but I did read it.  The guy is clueless and can't write.  But his HUGE picture above the article helps (*** warning: sarcasm).

Smitty, that cracks me up.  The writer looks like an aged Bluto with a beard and glasses.

Anyone figure out what the music reference in his banner was all about?

The message is pretty simple, UMass ain't Alabama when it comes to college football and drawing fans. He sees UMass wasting a whole lot of money for nothing in return. UMass can never hope to be an SEC or Big Ten team on the field or in the stands. Plus, he figures they will try to stick the public with the cost of building a stadium on campus, another waste of money. Can anyone say UAB?

Maybe that's left over from the whole napster thing 10 years ago or whenever that was?   Or maybe it's poorly quoted from shawshank redemption?  Maybe it's a play on how he thinks he looks like jerry garcia?  I can keep going ...
