Whitley chose the Tide over offers from Texas, Texas A&M, Florida, LSU,

Notre Dame and others after recently visiting Tuscaloosa for the Tide's A-Day game.

“Their graduation rates for the last three years have been very high," Whitley told BamaOnline after his A-Day visit. "That’s what I was mostly focused on, because my academics are something that I’m going to be focused on when I go to college. I liked the engineering program. They have tutors for every player. That’s going to be my main focus. I know they have a thing for winning and all the national championships, but that’s not all I was worried about.”

Nice size at 6-2 220  with his senior year of HS left to play. He will be 240 when he gets to Tuscaloosa.

The article did not say if he was going to early enroll in January or finish HS and enroll in the summer.
