Just dropping by to say hey to some of the TideSports folks.  I have been posting some on Woolly, but not nearly as much as I use to post on TS. 

I just realized that this site is not blocked at work, so I might be coming around more often.  It is good to see some of the old timers. 

I went to Tuscaloosa for A Day.  It was my first time in Tuscaloosa since I moved to Texas.  I went with my brother and my dad.  It made me really miss being close enough to go to multiple games every year.

I live in Tarrant County.  Mansfield, just south of Fort Worth & Arlington. 

I was happy to see that I can access this site from work.  Most sports forums are blocked.  I see that there are a lot of good posters from TideSports here.  I can already see my production at work going south.

I remembered from your (location:) on TS. I posted yesterday on a motorcycle thread (also downstairs) about a bike crash I saw on a FM road in TX. That was in Tarrant Co., or Johnson, or Ellis, I get confuddled.

I noticed that as well.   I post over at Woolly Al, but not nearly as much as I did at TS.  I am not really offended by the language, but I think some people abuse it.  I don't see the point in dropping the f bomb every other word, just b/c you can.

Glad to see you posting over here 12.  What happened to the clapping avatar?  Did you decide not to use it, or did you have problems getting it to work here?

I think we might have been blocked at a lot of places those first few days before I moved the whole site onto a dedicated server.  I got a couple of reports of being blocked back then, but I haven't had any reports since then.

Thanks for having me.  I will change the avatar when I get home.  I am on my work computer, so I just put this one up for the time being.

I'm not really offended by the language either.  I agree that it is abused over there.  I know bamachine from our days at TS and I have talked to him about some of the flame wars that have been going back and forth.  He is all about freedom of speech and giving those guys that get banned every where else a place to call home.  I respect what he is trying to do there, but it is not for me.

I only posted on TS for a little while, all though I read the forum since the Shula days.  The thing that kept me from posting, and keeps me from posting at places like Woolly, is all of the childishness you have to put up with from some of those guys when you let them run around unchecked.  There are a lot of great people over there, but unfortunately most of them get drowned out by the noise.  For every good post you would see at TS you would have to mentally filter out at least 3 or 4 that were a waste of bandwidth.  I think it is even worse over at WA.  Of course we have some wasted bytes here too, but not nearly as many in my opinion.

One thing is for sure though, I PROMISE you that I am so glad those guys have a place to call their own.  :D  Hopefully bamachine can keep something shiny in the courtyard for those guys to look at until the season starts.

I think it will work, we have a couple of guys with animated ones.  If not, let me know and I will see what I can do.
