Alabama faces Auburn on Day 1 of the SEC Tournament. The game will start at about 12:30. The first game is at 9:30 and we play 30 minutes after that game is complete.

The new format is different. The top 4 teams get a bye today. The remaining 8 teams plan today with the winners advancing and the losers going home. If we win today we play LSU tomorrow. After Day 1 it takes two losses to be eliminated.

Most experts think Alabama has done enough to make the NCAA Tournament regardless of how the SEC Tournament goes. However, we can remove all doubt and improve our seeding with a win today. Auburn is squarely on the NCAA bubble. They need this game or they most likely will miss the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year.

The Alabama-Auburn game will be on FSN and ESPN3.

In the first game today Ole Miss leads Kentucky 2-0 in the 4th.

Ole Miss is leading UK 4-1 after the 6th.

Shall we put them out of their misery?

Ole Miss beats UK 4-1.

Bama game should start about 12:30.

Bama got a run in the 1st to take a 1-0 lead.

Auburn coming to bat T3.

Barn gets 3 runs in the 3rd to take a 3-1 lead.

Alabama does not score in the 3rd. Barn leads 3-1.

Jay Shaw coming in to pitch the 4th for Bama replacing starter Kaplain.

Bama gets 1 run in the 4th. Barn leads 3-2.

Bama had runners on 1st and 3rd with 1 out and Miller hits into an inning ending double play.

Bama gets a run in the 6th to tie the score at 3-3.

After 7 innings the score is tied 3-3.

Bama gets 3 runs in the 8th to take a 6-3 lead.

We advance to play LSU tomorrow.

That was too close, boys.  Getting put out by the barn in the first round would've just been humiliating.

SS White and 2B Overstreet are freshmen. They turned 3 double plays today. We turned 69 double plays on the year. That is about 20 more than last year.

We are a very good defensive team. To be good on defense you have to be strong up the middle. We have freshmen at SS, 2B and CF.

Alabama is going to be a fun team to watch the next few years. We are a very young team.

Plus, you have to have pitching that keeps the ball down low to aid in hitting into a double play.

Freshman shortstop Mikey White is the son of Mike White who played football at Bama 1982-1985.

I didn't get to watch any of the game but I love what I hear in the posts. My idea of the young guns we have, if the bats come along we should really be good. Thanks for the reports everybody. RTR!

Of the eight teams remaining to play in Hoover six are from the West and two from the East. Vandy and USCe are the only East teams in the top 8 but those are two very good teams that could may it to Omaha. Of course the only team not to advance from the West is cellar dweller Auburn.

Arky and Ole Miss are playing the first game today. They are tied 1-1 in the 6th.

We play 30 minutes after this game is complete.

Our highlight reel double play ended up being Sportscenter's #4 play of the day.

Arky beats Ole Miss 2-1 in 10 innings. The Arky winning run was scored on a wild pitch.

We will play about 1:00.

The winner of our game will play Arky tomorrow. Loser plays Ole Miss.

Top of the 2nd Bama trails 3-0.

Top of third ended with a spectacular double play.  Ball was hit to third baseman who threw it to 2nd who threw it to 1st to end our chance.  >:(

We have two hits on the day. Both resulted in double plays with the next batter.

After 6 full innings Bama still trails 3-0.

Bama still can not get on the score board. LSU leads 3-0. LSU batting in B8. We only get one more at bat.

Bama couldn't get it done today.  Losing 3-0.

Tough day for the Tide. We gave up three 1st inning runs and that was all LSU needed. Charley Sullivan pitched a complete game. Too bad he did not get any run support.

Bama played really well after the first inning.  If they could just have gotten a few more hits...

It was a loss but I am impressed with the caliber of ball that Bama is playing. Bama got beat by a very good team but they could just as easily have won this game. Having a chance to beat the better teams is something us Bama fans haven't seen a lot of until the second half of this season.

They won't win a national championship this year, but I think they have layed some groundwork for a bright future. If all of the expected players come back next year and they add a few recruits, next season could be very interesting.  ;)

We got two outs and then walked the bases loaded. One single and three walks got OM two runs. Walks will kill you.  >:(

The Ole Miss runner on 3rd in B9 had me concerned.

Bama takes the lead in the top of the 10th with 1 out.  7-5.

Bama wins 7-5.  South Carolina and Vanderbilt are about to play each other in the loser's bracket.  The loser goes home.

Great win today. These are big wins against quailty teams. We are working our way into a # 2 seed now.

We will play the LSU - Arky loser tomorrow.

It's going to be a tough row to hoe through the loser's bracket, but maybe we can put a few more in the W column.

This is going to be some serious work now. Every pitch has to count and every bat has to be a complete appearance. The other guys are not going to want to go home no more than us. This is fun Baseball. RTR!

In the 2nd game today Vandy and USCe are tied 3-3 in the 7th.

The SEC Tournament is loaded with good baseball teams and they are having trouble beating each other. All games have been close and at least 3 have gone to extra innings.

Wow, this is better comparability than I thought. Looks the lost ones will have some hard teams to get through on the losers side. RTR!

Arkansas beat LSU 4-1.

This game was close. Arky broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the 8th and added 2 insurance runs in the 9th.

We play LSU tomorrow at 3:00. Loser goes home.

Now wouldn't it be something if Bama sent LSU home. ;)

Miss State beat A&M 6-4 in the late game yesterday.

I haven't been able to find the game on TV today, but it looks like Alabama just took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 6th.

LSU is down to their last 3 outs.  Bama still leading 2-1.

Bama gets another double play.  That makes 4 today and 10 for the tournament.  They now lead the NCAA in defensive double plays.  One more out and we win.

LSU just tied it on a 3-2 count with 2 outs.  >:(

Finally get out of the inning.  Now Bama is down to their last 3 outs.  We were 1 strike away from sending them home.  >:(

15 minutes ago we were 1 strike away from a complete game from our starting pitcher to send LSU home.  Now we are the ones going home.

Well it sounds like our guys play as best they were capable. Do you think we still make into the CWS? RTR!

I watched almost the entire game yesterday.  It was a painful one to let slip away.
