Title: Notre Dame Starting QB Gone
Post by: Marshal Dillon on May 25, 2013, 10:30:12 PM
Did we hurt his feelings in the Championship game? A lot of mystery about his leaving.

Quote
According to the media and confirmed by Notre Dame, starting QB Everett Golson is no longer enrolled at Notre Dame.

At this time, no official reason has been given for Golson un-enrolling, and there was no immediate word on what future Golson has with the Irish football program according to NBC.]

Looks like he didn't take care of his academic work.

Couple of good video reports here.  Sounds like ND will be really hurting without Golson.

Yep, they lost several players to graduation/draft and the whole offense was built around Golson. It's almost the first of June and now they have to revamp their offense. This is going to be ugly. They will lose 3-4 games this year.

A ND grad told me one of their top recruits has withdrawn and switched to UCLA. Maybe they should be called the Flighting Irish.

Gosh, all this bad luck for the Irish really makes me sad.

Eddie Vanderdoes was the fellow to which the Irish alumnus was referring.  He was possibly the #1DT recruit this signing class and a top 10 overall recruit.  He was down to Notre Dame, UCLA, and our beloved Crimson Tide on signing day.  He's not announced anything, but it is thought that he will end up at UCLA (close to home).

Gunner Kiel, who was a top 5 QB recruit for them last year has already left and transferred to Cinci.

Then, you have the alleged rape cover up inside the athletic dept and University, the whole weird Manti Teo situation, and now this.

There's a serious stench coming from South Bend.  Smells like a real lack of leadership.

Why are so many kids uncommitting today? Did free agency come to college football? I always thought commit means till the end. I really am confused by all this. RTR!

Let's see. Bama beats Texas in '09, Texas hasn't been the same since.

Bama beats ND this year, Irish having horrendous off season.

Now just waiting to see LSU bottom out.

Don't forget, they had a mass exodus this year.

I was listening to ESPN Radio and they were talking to Al Lesar, sportswriter for the South Bend Tribune. He's the Cecil Hurt of Notre Dame football/sports.

He was talking about different ND issues. He mentioned that QB Golston left school because of what Notre Dame called "academic misbehavior." Don't we call that cheating down South? Plus, he mentioned that he and other reporters were having a discussion with ND coach Kelly and the ND/Alabama game came up in conversation. Coach Kelly stated that after reviewing the game film he said his team had not played that bad after all. Lesar said he laughed and asked Coach Kelly if he was serious and the coach said yes. Lesar then said that Eddie Lacy could have rushed for 350 yards and Bama score 65 points if Saban had not shut it down in the 2nd half. The reporter was incredulous that the ND coach could made such a ludicrous statement.

Golson really isn't/wasn't much of a QB.  And ND is back to being irrelevant hopefully.

That's kinda what the reporter said, too.

Isn't that like saying Hurricane Katrina really didn't do THAT much damage?
