Title: Auburn Baseball Coach Gone Fishing

About time they did something about their BB program.

Quote
John Pawlowski is out as Auburn's baseball coach after five seasons of mixed results and three straight seasons without an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

He made one regional in 5 years. The barn has made one regional in the last nine years. By contrast, we have made 4 out of the last 5. We have made 15 of the last 19.

I am surprised they fired him. He had the best year of any barn coach. Football finished 14th, basketball 14th, baseball 10th. How did Barbee miss the mass firings?

Barbee has a big contract compared to the baseball guy, plus they are still paying off Chiznik.

This must be another "power move" by Jacobs to prove his worth to the barnyard fambly. I thought all of his coaches were doing a great job. :dunno:

How's their swim team? They used to be pretty good. Maybe Jacobs can build from that.  :dunno:

The barn just has not been the same since Colonial Bank collapsed.

I think you just nailed something I had not thought of.  Lowder was plying Auburn with millions of dollars. His personal wealth was $100 million but after Colonial collapsed, he was worth $10 mil. Huge difference in what you can do with your money when you drop that much wealth. His influence and monetary "influence" evaporated after the bank problems, so has the Auburn sports programs. Good observation pmull.

I hope that someday someone will spill the beans on all that has been going on down there, maybe a tell all book.
