Obviously, he was not that committed to his studies and what it takes to be successful. He might have let his reputation from high school go to his head.

I'd suggest letting this play out a little before making any kind of judgement.  IIRC we allowed him to transfer freely because one of his parents was having health problems.

Good point. If a parent is ill, he could be very distracted.

It's too bad that he transfered. CNS and staff kept him where he needed to be as far as self discipline was concerned. He seemed to have strayed away from the necessary things to be a football player and student after he left. I never bought into the illness excuse that he had as his reason to transfer, I think he just wanted out at Bama.
