Title: Rolando McClain Back at Alabama
Post by: Marshal Dillon on June 11, 2013, 09:50:21 PM
Good story. Saban is taking care of him.

Quote
Troubled linebacker Rolando McClain, who announced his surprise retirement from the NFL last month, is back in school at Alabama, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said Tuesday during a speaking engagement

"I know a lot of people get disappointed in Rolando McClain and a lot of the things he's struggled with," Saban said, "but he's with us now."

Good to hear. Hopefully this is the start for Rolo to get his life back on track.

Not only is that the best way for him to keep his nose clean, it's also his best chance of staying in football shape and having a chance to get back to the NFL.

Not to mention the educational experience.

I wonder who made the initial phone call, McClain or CNS. I hope McClain can mature enough to realize that CNS is his life raft.

I heard something very recently about him (Rolo) possibly selling his million + $ home in Madison.  Hope that wasn't so he could spend more time in Decatur...

He'd only bought it 3-4 months ago.  I don't think he ever really lived there.

Madison is an upscale town (like Vestavia) about 10 miles from Decatur, so he or his pals from the 'hood can easily drive there.

Gotta hope this will give Rolo a structure of accountability that he's needed. Definately his best chance to turn it around and let's hope he's successful.

I heard last week he is back on campus taking classes with the goal of graduating and earning his degree. CNS has a special bond with RO and he is trying to help get him straightened out and back in the NFL. Ro will work this summer and fall as an unpaid student coach.

I also heard his Madison home is for sale.

I hope this is true. I agree with what several posters have said in the past about McClain, he needs to get the heck out of Decatur and stay away from his "friends" in the hood.
