Quote "You've got a very successful man in his profession," said Mike Bell, a Tennessee state senator who stood in line wearing a Tennessee shirt. "I wish the people would accept him for that and not make such a big deal that he's the Alabama football coach, even though I'm a deep orange football fan. I hope we beat the tar out of Alabama next year, even though we've not done it for several years." As soon as Bell got those words out of his mouth, an Alabama fan standing behind him interrupted. "Dream on," said Floyd Shadrick of Chattanooga. I am also wary of a letdown.
Right now in the off season workouts is where leadership is needed most. The best leaders are those that lead by example. If the leaders of our team are not working hard the rest of the team will not be either. This is when you find the leaders for this year's team, those that step up to the challenge.
But I think something just happened this week that could give this team some leadership that no one expected. It's just a speculation of mine but Rolando McClain could end up playing a huge role with this team. If he is truly going to be an unpaid student coach, and his head is on right, he can make a huge impact with the team. |
