Title: Football has never felt so insignificant in Alabama Post by: Terrie1959 on April 28, 2011, 05:47:53 PM This is so true :(
This was supposed to be a triumphant day for the state of Alabama. Tonight, all those crystal balls and Heisman trophies from the past two years will land Alabama and Auburn with multiple first-round NFL draft picks simultaneously for the first time. Tonight, all that football dominance could make Alabama the first state in the modern era to produce the top two draft picks from different universities. It feels so meaningless now. The draft, the games, the trophies, the bragging rights ... they're all diversions from our everyday lives until real life wreaks unimaginable devastation on far, far too many people. http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/04/football_has_never_felt_so_ins.html (http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/04/football_has_never_felt_so_ins.html) Title: Re: Football has never felt so insignificant in Alabama Post by: XBAMA on April 28, 2011, 07:13:04 PM they were talking about this earlier on the radio , reporter said
the big build up to the draft is all they have thought about for months and now it didn't even cross their minds today , said it didn't really matter who goes where NBC news left the royal wedding to come home back to the USA to report this story yeah .... this has put things into prospective for many people Title: Re: Football has never felt so insignificant in Alabama Post by: ricky023 on April 30, 2011, 10:23:06 AM Reality sets in for us and Sports Giants just keep on doing whatever they do with all that money and it doesn't mean a drop in the hat to the injured people and homes gone forever. Family memories never to be got back, I feel such a heart ache for those in the wake of the storms. God Bless them all. RTR!
