New details surfaced late Wednesday night further tying Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez to the investigation of a homicide of a Boston man. Hernandez's involvement in the case is significant enough that a source with knowledge of the investigation said that Hernandez's arrest is likely. It is not yet known what he would be charged with.

On Thursday ABC News reported that a security system in Hernandez's home, which included video surveillance, was smashed intentionally and a cell phone was handed over to police "in pieces" by Hernandez's attorneys. A cleaning crew was seen leaving Hernandez's home on Monday before the police searched the residence.

The warrant is for obstruction of justice in connection with the murder investigation of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, who was found dead in an industrial park less than a mile from Hernandez's North Attleboro, Mass., home Monday.

• Hernandez tried to work out at Gillette Stadium on Thursday but was turned away by team staff, the Boston Herald reported.

• Last summer, the Patriots gave Hernandez a five-year contract. It was worth $40 million, according to reports, and came just months after the team locked up Gronkowski through 2019

Football is in no way the most important issue in this story, since someone has lost their life in a senseless murder and a pro player may be a suspect. But just on a side note, you have to wonder who Brady is going to throw to this season if Gronk is still out with injuries and Hernandez is in the clink.

* The Patriots used three picks in 2009 and 2010 on players who reportedly failed college drug tests — Hernandez, linebacker Brandon Spikes and wide receiver Brandon Tate.

Tate was waived in 2011 and now plays for Cincinnati. Spikes and linebacker-defensive lineman Jermaine Cunningham, another 2010 second-round selection, both have served four-game NFL suspensions after testing positive for banned performance-enhancing substances.

Maybe Belichick placed too much faith in the predraft feedback of friend Urban Meyer. Belichick selected five University of Florida players from when Meyer was the Gators’ head coach. Hernandez, Spikes and Cunningham are three of them.

New surveillance photos released Thursday appear to show former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez in his living room carrying what is believed to be a handgun in the hours before the former NFL star allegedly committed murder, investigators said Thursday

Authorities are searching a lake in Bristol, Conn. — the hometown of Aaron Hernandez — in connection to the murder investigation against the former New England Patriots tight end, according to local police.

New court records say that an associate of Aaron Hernandez told police the former New England Patriot put guns in a box in his basement after returning from the industrial park where his friend was fatally shot.

An affidavit released by Attleboro District Court says Carlos Ortiz told investigators Hernandez put firearms in the black box after Odin Lloyd's killing. The document indicates one was a small gun Ortiz handed Hernandez after they returned home with another associate, Ernest Wallace. Ortiz said he earlier saw Hernandez with an additional "large handgun."

A sports store in Saugus, Mass., claims TMZ paid $18,000 for the jailhouse letter written by Aaron Hernandez, according to a report.

Bristol Sheriff Thomas Hodgson verified to the Herald that letter came in an envelope for the jail, but wouldn’t confirm that the letter in which Hernandez claimed that murder charges “humbled him” was authentic.

The search of a lake for a gun that would potentially tie Aaron Hernandez to the killing of Odin Lloyd has come up empty, according to a report from CNN.com

Well, he is under the weather with a stomach bug this weekend, but otherwise he is doing great. He is 6 now and will be starting 1st grade in a few weeks. He also seems to have developed an affinity for basketball, though finding the hoop with the basketball has proved to be a challenge so far. That may actually be enough to get him a scholarship to play for the barn, though.  :lol2:

I have to ask this question. What type of shoes have you got for him to play basketball in? Please don't tell me he playing in his baseball cleats.

I hope he feels better soon. At his age he will bounce back fast.

It might help if you could find a place for him to shoot that has a lower goal. They make goal post that are adjustable that helps the young kids develop their shot. I see kids all the time trying to shoot but just can not get the ball high enough on a 10' rim.

No, he does have sneakers for that.

Yeah, I have been trying to find a gym or other facility that has a goal that can be lowered for him. I've been trying to work with him on dribbling, and if he continues to show interest, we might sign him up for Upward Bound basketball in the fall.

Keep exposing him to different sports and he will show an interest in at least one, maybe more. Upward basketball is a good program.

Per the report, investigators will return to the area next week to search a smaller body of water near Pine Lake.
