Title: ESPNU Top 25 games of 2012
Post by: Catch Prothro on July 30, 2013, 09:18:51 PM
ESPNU has been showing the Top 25 games from 2012, as voted by the viewers.

The top three games were:

1. Alabama v. Georgia
2. TAMU v. Bama
3. Bama v. LSU

It was really awesome to watch that Georgia game again.  Definitely the best game of last year.

Should be available all week.

I saw the #6 game last night between Clemson and LSU.  LSU had a lot of bad pass interference calls against them that kept giving Clemson new life.  It eventually cost them the game with a last second FG by Clemson.

Mostly it was clock management by Les Miles.  4th Quarter, 2nd and 2, about 2 minutes left, and with that power rushing team LSU tries two passes, both incomplete, and punts the ball back to Clemson.

That too.  Dabo had all of his timeouts, but didn't have to use any of them.

yeah, if LSU rushes for 2 yards in 2 attempts, then Dabo uses all his timeouts while the clock runs.  Another first down and game is over.

The first week of football this year should be great.  Clemson thinks they can beat Georgia -- they might be right, as Georgia never does well early in the season under Richt.  LSU v. TCU, Miss. State v. OK State.

We might want to pick up a Thursday game for the start of the season.  North Carolina v. South Carolina, or Ole Miss v. Vandy on Thursday.

Bama is favored by 22 points over Virginia Tech, making it an interesting pick.

I find the Ole Miss/Vandy game to be interesting & compelling. The Washington State/Auburn game should be interesting, too, with Coach Mike Leach.

As long as Leach doesn't have the son of a TV analyst locked in a shed up in Pullman ....

 E-cred for snarky footnote on Leach's infamous run-in with the James gang.
