Saban likes recruiting multiple WRs because he can play them on special teams or convert them to defensive players.  It also is a position where a player can step in fairly quickly.

To someone with deep football knowledge: How much of an advantage is gained by a DB who was a competitive WR at the elite level (recruited to D1 as a WR)? Does the knowledge of route running and timing give them a mental advantage?

One of my ex players signed to be a rec in college and actually played on the offensive side of the ball.  The team did not throw the ball like they told him and he transferred to another college and played db, he was also a db in high school.  He actually played in the pros A few years as a db. 

Foster played both WR and DB in HS.

Saban will evaluate him and find the best fit.

I'm just glad the kid finally got cleared. This had Alfy Hill written all over it.
