How long can UK keep losing high quality players after one year?

As long as Calipari can keep recruiting players that would go straight from HS to the NBA if not for the one and done rule.

That NBA "pipeline" brings in more big time recruits.

Yeah, but every big time recruit isn't going to work out. Tey have no real depth and the starting team changes every year. It will catch up to you eventually.

IDK. True, every recruit does not go on to stardom, but the UK average on that has been better than most schools. You will still have some very good players that are not one and done. That is your depth. The alternative is to recruit guys on purpose that aren't good enough to enter the draft after their freshman year, but that would be silly.

Is Trevor Lacey a potential "one 'n done 'er"?

He has that kind of potential. I'd guess no.

I really don't see him in that category. He's a 4**** recruit and he has some ballhandling issues.

He may never win an NCAA Championship because of the turnover but I think he lost 3 players to NBA in 2010 and he seemed to do ok until it got deep into March Madness.  KY didn't look all that good early but by tournament time they had gelled and made a deep run.  He can probably do Sweet 16 most years with his "process" and reach the occassional Final Four.  Not too sure how happy UK fans will be without the title, though.

I guess you'd call it "talent over experience" and most coaches would rather have talent.

I think it would have caught up with them this year had the SEC not had a down year.
