With the victory, the Crimson Tide (30-20, 12-12 in the Southeastern Conference) moved into a first-place tie in the Western Division. Austen Smith, Taylor Dugas and Brett Booth provided the power for Alabama, which game into the game with only 14 home runs in 49 games. Jonathan Smart provided the pitching.
