Title: Bama players in the NFL
Post by: Catch Prothro on September 08, 2013, 09:02:15 PM
I watched just a bit of NFL games today.  Atlanta played at New Orleans, so I got to see Mark Ingram, Julio Jones and others.

Julio made seven catches, including a TD catch in the fourth quarter to put Atlanta within striking distance.  He did have a fumble, which was recovered by Roman Harper.  Towards the end of the game, Atlanta was down by 6, and drove down the field (another clutch catch by Julio) to first and goal.  But they couldn't get the TD.  Roman Harper intercepted the 4th and goal pass.  Mark Ingram had a tough day -- the Saints really could use some run blocking -- 9 carries for 11 yards; he was often first hit in the backfield.

Eddie Lacy started at RB for Green Bay.  He had 41 yards on 14 attempts, including his first NFL touchdown, which was in the 4th Quarter and gave Green Bay the lead.  (They eventually lost).

I watched both of those games too.  Lacy had a fumble; shocker!  :o
But he played well and got some love from the announcers.  He's a good fit for GB.
Mark Ingram just couldn't break out on runs.  The announcers said he might be suffering from the 3-back rotation; maybe so.  But I agree, he suffers most from lack of blocking.

Congrats to them all.  Just think, they're all millionaires now.

I feel bad for Ingram.  He's been set back by injuries and now has a weak o-line blocking for him.  The Saints had a great line the year they won the Super Bowl, but have gotten progressively worse since then.

I caught the tail end of the Jets game. I don't know how he did overall, but I saw Milliner break up a pass.
