Title: Games of the day discussion
Post by: 2Stater on September 21, 2013, 11:42:22 AM
I was watching Vandy-UMASS. Not exactly riveting.

So, switched to UGA-N. Texas. Georgia not looking good, so far. Murray just threw an int. in the end zone.

The Georgia Tech QB just got smacked down pretty good running the option.

Yeah, I think so. They love him there, but VT has been mired in mediocrity for a few years, now. I think they'll want a change.

I hope you guys have some better choices for games than I do right now. At least you can catch an SEC team playing. Right now, my choices are: San Jose State vs. Minnesota, GA Tech v. UNC, Syracuse v. Tulane, or Pitt v. Duke.  :yuck:

I would KILL to watch UGA play North Texas. I have taken the lesser of the four evils: Tech vs. UNC. At least they are Southern teams.  :dunno:

Yeah I saw the score for that one. I might have to check into getting a college football package next season. I miss getting to watch those early in the day conference games. Makes me nostalgic for those Jefferson Pilot games-of-the-week. Y'all remember getting up early enough on Saturdays to catch those?

This is a crazy game.  300 pound defensive lineman for VT picks up fumble and makes it to 15 yard line before getting tackled.  His teammates might have blocked RB, who made tackle, for winning TD.

First and goal for VT now.  Score and they win.

ESPNU lost signal.  VT was down to around the 2 yard line.  They only need a FG.

Terps up 17-0 and driving. Just when I thought Maryland's helmets couldn't get any uglier.  :yuck:  HC Randy Edsall actually said this week on the radio that all of these uniform changes were a great recruiting tool. So I guess THAT is why teams like Bama and tOSU continue to struggle: they only have the traditional uniforms.  :eyeroll:

I don't know why I picked WV over Md. Even with all the adversity with Randy Edsall, I knew he was a very good coach. What he achieved at UCONN was phenomenal. It apparently is finally taking shape at Md. I thought maybe they were overachieving so far, but now I think they are actually a pretty good team. I aspire to go 5-5 this week.  :lol2:

Terps have some offensive threats. CJ Brown is a decent QB, and Stefan Diggs is a beast at receiver. However, WVU has just looked awful. Their defense couldn't stop Hoover High, and they can't get anything going on offense.

UF goes up 24-10. If they can keep from playing down to their competition, I stand a chance in this one.

This young QB they have in there right now seems to have sparked their offense.
I was thinking we may not see Driskel again this year.

Notre Dame and MSU tied at 10

USC up by 3 over Utah St

We won't see Driskel again this year. Murphy just scored to make it 31-10 UF.

Well if I had known Driskel was going to get hurt, I might have picked Florida.   :D

I can see that. I think CP is right; Driskell may be the backup after this one.

Defense wasn't just optional in that one. It was prohibited.  :lol2:

You mean basketball has started already? So does this mean we face Duke soon? How many starters does Coach K have returning?

Don't count those fearsome looking turtles out. The hot seat just moved Holgorsen of WVA up the list.

Driskell out for the season. Good thing Murphy has some talent for UF.

Yeah.  And this is the Michigan team that everyone thinks will challenge Ohio State this year.
At first I was worried about OSU going undefeated, then I decided that we'd wipe the floor with them in a BCSNCG.  Better them than a West-coast team.  I know we'd enjoy crushing Urban Meyer again!

As much as I dislike Meyer I don't want Bama to be responsible for his death. We almost killed him last time.  Another dismantling might just do him in.

Oh my goodness.
[with sarcasm]  I wouldn't want that on my conscience.  That would be turrible.

I don't want to kill him either. But I'd like for Bama to beat him just bad enough to where he starts talking like P-P-Porky P-P-Pig.

I just want the Ohio State crowd to see the real Urban.  All they've seen is the puffed-up, undefeated Urban.
