Looks like Bo seems pretty confident about this little shindig coming up Saturday. What do you think?

I do agree with his assessment of where we are in terms of DBs, but we are still Bama. I think he would be wise to remember that.  I agree with HS Coach, JM made all the difference in the A&M game.  I don't think Bo will be able to escape like JM did.

Ole Siss is coming in with a lot of confidence and swaggah.  They get some of that from their coach but they have seen how Bama has played in our first three games, and they believe they can win.  All that can go a long way.

I hope our guys kick it up a notch and are ready to go from the first play.

I have this knowledge back here somewhere that if we kick it up a notch and play a full 60 minute game the way we are capable, he will have tears in his eyes. RTR!

I know you can't say you have no chance going into the game, but that's big talk from a team that hasn't proved anything yet going up against the two-time defending national champions who have already gone on the road and beaten the #6 team with the defending Heisman winner.

It's almost comical to watch our "fans" melt down after an 19-year-old RB hits the wrong hole, or an 18-year-old DB gets turned around, or even when a senior QB throws the ball short, high, low, or too hard/soft/seldom etc. AND WE STILL WIN BY 3 TDs, THEN THEY GRIPE LOUDLY.
I'm loving it this year, even if we slip up and lose ONE!   :lol2:
I went to Alabama when Coach Bryant was coaching, met with him numerous times, and remember life and football weren't perfect.  Those were days when we beat USM 63-14 one week, then lost to lowly Vandy 14-10 just 2 weeks later.  Wins over top-10 teams were rare back then, and match-ups with top teams in bowl games more rare.  We seldom scheduled top, out-of-conference teams.
These days we're playing the best and burying them.

Big talk from the reining Papa Johns Bowl QB whose team has a 9 game losing streak to the team he is trash talking with. So they beat Vandy and Texas - who is impressed with that?

That's just good locker room fodder, not just for Bama, but for A&M as well. I hope we can hit on all cylinders and make him eat those words. You can bet JF will.  :popcorn2:

What he should have said is that OM has a better defense than A&M. IMO this will be the key to the game. If we keep doing 3 and outs our defense will be run dry. If we keep the defense rested, I think we can contain him.

The pass rush can be different than the A&M game because he is not as fast or quick as JM.  Pressure on the QB is one of the best things that helps in pass coverage. 

How long has it been since we've gone into an Ole Miss game and people are worried we might lose?

1969, as I recall.

Well, I feel better about playing Ole Miss than I did last week (against Colorado State).
The players know this is an SEC game, and Ole Miss is undefeated, ranked, rested, and confident.  It should be entertaining, and our players should play with a sense of urgency.  Hopefully Cooper is well enough to contribute.

AND, I'm going to be there watching it.  First game I've attended since the Prothro catch against USM.

I was there for the Prothro game, several others since then.  Probably my favorite was the Rocky Block game, although the Michigan and Auburn beat down games were fun too.

I haven't read this whole thread, but it's possible that they have more talented receivers than A&M, but that doesn't mean they will present the same match-up problems for our DBs.  It's not like we exactly have a lack of talent at DB.

I do think that this is a key.  We have played extremely talented receivers before and been very successful.  Mike Evans is just a freak of nature.  I think as a complete unit, A&M is not the most talented receiver corps, but his size and leaping ability make him very difficult to stop without a double-team or at least help over the top.  The difference between a 6' 3" guy and a 6' 5" guy that can jump out of the building can be pretty substantial.

It has been said in this thread but not on page 3 yet. Bo Wallace is not Johnny Football. He will not be able to extend plays and give his receivers all day to get open.

We also get Beleu back who is our best cover corner.
