There are 125 teams playing big boy football. Alabama is ranked #1 and Georgia State is ranked #125. They lost to JSU and Samford. I expect to see a lot of Blake Sims, Tenpenny, Fowler, the #3 QB, #3, 4, 5 RB's and a host of other players.

A great game for the reserves, but I wonder if we should sink this low for a pushover. Last time it was 63-7.

Thats exactly what I was thinking.  I don't think we blow the doors off unless our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th teamers are playing that well.  I am really hoping that by the time we get to the corndogs we will have played ALOT of youngsters...

I guess these type games are necessary. I don't think the team looks forward to a game like this and I know the fans don't. I wish we could find a cupcake that would at least put up a small fight.

LA Monroe or LA Tech is a big step up from Georgia State. We used to schedule Southern Miss every year when Jeff Bowyer was the coach. They beat us once (maybe twice) but they were competitive. Teams like Tulane, Memphis and Colorado St are much better than Georgia St and Chattanooga.

When we went to a 12 team conference with 8 SEC everyone softened the non SEC games. Look at these schedules:

1986 Ohio St, So Miss, Notre Dame, Memphis, Penn St, Temple

1985 Texas A&M, Cincinnati, Penn St, Mem, So Miss

1978 Nebraska, Missou, USCw, Washington, VA Tech

This is a trap game. By this I mean a game in which 2nd and 3rd string players will take the field thinking that the can just fly around and improvise because of the talent differential. If and when they do this, they will be so severely Sabanated they will be unable to hear or sit for the next several days.

Bingo! At least it's not on pay-for-view, which I would never pay for. This is really an embarrassing game for a team trying to win a National Championship.

Guess I will be listening to Eli and Phil over the Internet. It will be my first time to hear them this season.

They have beaten us five times and tied twice.  They beat Stallings in his first game in 1990 in Legion Field and Bryant in his last year, breaking a 57-game winning streak in Denny Stadium.  They also beat DuBose 21-0 in 2000 in Legion Field.

Brett Favre was their QB in that 1990 game.   Alabama coach Gene Stallings said, "You can call it a miracle or a legend or whatever you want to. I just know that on that day, Brett Favre was larger than life."
