I am confused about something I have noticed for several months on the forum. Normally, when a new comment is posted on a thread, the word NEW is shown to let you know someone has commented since the last time I have opened the thread. However, this does not happen when Chechem, you, and I think pmull or 2Stater (can't remember which one) posts a new comment. Is there something going on here? Also, why does the camera on my computer blink off and on sometimes?

The "new" flag works just fine for me.  It is actually a tiny image, so maybe your browser cache is messed up.

The camera is Big Brother watching you.  :lol:  Seriously though, I have no idea why that would happen.

Does Chech have administration priviledges like you? Could that be the reason?

He is a moderator, but not an administator.  So is pmull.  2stater is not.

I'm a moderator, but I don't know that I have any access to technology that affects your computer camera.  To be blunt, "No, I'm not watching you."

Back to Marshal's question.

1.  I'll start watching the "new" designation; however, I noticed after you posted your op that my "new" designations were not lit up.  Must be a glitch.

2.  In checking on that I noticed another "new" designation that's available on each FORUM.  If you click "forum" at the top, it opens all forums (fora?) and tells which have a new post (hover over the A-button), which thread was posted in last, and who posted it.  It helps you check for new info, and it's what I used to check when we had trolls posting crap overnight.

The "new" designation is not automatic.  I've noticed it takes several seconds for it to appear.  Also, it does not show up if you are not logged in.

This is true.  It never shows up if you are a guest because it does not know what you have seen and what you have not seen.  It has to know who you are before it can know what you have seen.

MD, if you think your camera winking at you, turn it off :)or wink back :unsure:
