Title: Blake Sims
Post by: bamalum67 on October 27, 2013, 06:13:12 AM
Good win for us, but I am not, never have been impressed with Blake Sims..he;s just not the QB we're gonna need next year.  Maybe some of you saw the camera on him just after the clock ticked, he was running to the locker room, by himself, looked like he was the first one there..he does not seem to have a friend on the team..I predict he will transfer right after the season.

I am not smarter than CNS, but if he truly wanted Sims to get better, he would put him in a blowout game sooner than the 4th qtr with 6 minutes left..IMHO.

I hope AJ doesn't get hurt, but if he does, we could be in a crapstorm.

Sims running off the field after the game is something that I have seen in previous games, I have no idea what that is all about but maybe he has a hot date after the game. :dunno:

I do agree with you on him not being a good choice at QB for next year though. I've tried second guessing CNS before and usually found that I was worrying over nothing, I'll have to trust my faith in CNS that he has a plan. ;)

We have a bye week, then LSU. That's the only thing I'm worried about right now. I expect a QB competition in the spring and maybe fall, that will sort it all out. As Kuiyam would say "No worries, mate".  :D

I'm afraid Coach Saban has lost control of his quarterbacks.

CNS does not want to pull the redshirt off our QB of the future who at this point appears to be Luke Del Rio. I am sure there will be a fierce QB competition this spring.

I also expect some QB's transfer after the spring to thin the herd.

That's what I was thinking, keep the redshirts as long as possible, why burn them right now if not needed. I see Simms going the route of the last Simms with Morris of Del-Rio being our next starter.

If I were Sims I would not have been happy with coming in so late.

Morris is a redshirt freshman this year. He used his redshirt last year. If he had the potential to be our starter next year he would be getting the mop up duty this year IMO. I think Del Rio is the leader going into spring practice.

I agree with everyone's uneasiness with Blake. (I don't want to refer to him as BS.)  Maybe he was disappointed when AJ went in for his last series, but I thought CNS wanted to burn clock and AJ was the best bet to do that.

When Blake finally got in, he wanted to make some first downs and stay in the game.  Can't blame him for wanting to play.  But it seemed some of the guys in with him weren't executing their assignments and he had to scramble and failed to make the first down.  I think he was ticked as his teammates and by the end of the game just frustrated and wanted to get out of there.

As for him having no friends on the team...good question.  Some of you at the games could observe the bench and see what you think.

I saw Sims run off like he did , also saw pictures of him on
the strip later , he seemed to be doing ok for himself ...

AJ , took the vols mouth running to heart
I know he did not want to come out of that game
he wanted to score and score some more but what
really happened ? it's a guess ...

My only complaint about Sims is that he is a running QB.  I don't want a running QB in this league.  I want somebody that can make all the throws and let the Yeldons, Drakes, Henrys, etc of the world do the running.  If one of those guys go down, we have 3, maybe 30 ready to step in.  If the QB goes down, the entire season is in jeopardy.

I sorta became friends with Hannah , the girl that had the sign on TV
"Coach Saban if we stay for 60 you stay forever"  ...
  :lol2:

CNS seemed to like her idea , so as Chech's pic indicates ,
we in good hands ya'll  ! it's Rollin' Baby !

I am not sure if this valid, but Sims does not impress me in mop up duty. I know our 2nd team line is not that bad, but he seems to get happy feet to early to me. Has anybody else noticed this? RTR!

I think the same thing.  He wants to run the ball even if there isn't really a need to do so.

You know as I think about this situation, he seems to want to get his approval to earn more playing time. There are not many Jameis Winstons', Johnny Football, or the guy from Baylor, lord I forgot his name. This is the type of QB you want running the football But Not in the SEC. He just might not last the first Qtr. lol, RTR!
