Title: LSU fans respond to the loss...
Post by: Chechem on November 10, 2013, 09:08:50 AM
I listened to WWL at midnight last night.  They had a call-in show to discuss the game.

An Alabama fan called to thank LSU for making the rivalry so intense and worthy.  It was a classy call, but not especially well received.

Many LSU fans called to complain about penalty calls, no calls, or ball placements (paclements).  SEVERAL complained about Les trying to run the ball instead of throwing.

I was relieved that Les kept running against our stone wall during the 2nd half.  Seemed every time they threw on 3rd down they completed it!  Whew!

Even the LSU fans who called in said the "non-targeting hit" was targeting.

You're dead on. That's 2 years in a row where they killed us on 3rd down. I'm just glad we overcame that in the 2nd half.

Quote
When things tend to go sour, Les Miles becomes the scapegoat. He's the reason the Tigers lost, and that reason provides an escape from reality for some fans.

Well, that excuse isn't viable after this loss.

Miles did not blow any calls, and quite frankly, the offensive play-calling was on point. The Tigers just did not execute, as Alabama had the better athletes...

But the fans who called the WWL show complained:
1. Not enough passing;
2. Didn't let the playmakers (WRs) handle the ball enough;
3. Too conservative on offense;
4. Too predictable on defense;
5. "Les looked confused, even during the halftime interview." ...

We were able to stop the run in the 2nd half. That put LSU in obvious passing situations and we were able to pin our ears back and rush the passer. ZM was good when he had time to throw. We just did not give him any time especially in the 4th qtr and he took a beating.

If you want a good laugh, click on the link and it will take you to Tiger Rant. Start on page 100 when the corndogs are ragging on Saban for "wasting" a time out, just before the fake punt. Read through at least page 104. Priceless!

Stunning how much they complain about holding. They are clearly ignorant about the rules. You can grab the hell out if your man if your hand are inside your man's arms. They also fo not know that we pay for referees to be at practices to help OLMs learn how to do all they can within the rules.
