A talk show on Sirius Radio today said Michigan was the leader.

But why??  Makes no sense!

According to some sites Bama had many recruits at the game this weekend.

I know the RB from La was there and some big lineman, I think D Mama is his name. 

You guys read the Recruiting thread.  I put a bunch of those updates on there this week.

Yes, D Mama was one, if he's the Calif kid.  Was "impressed with Alabama"; good visit.

I did read that. I like our chances with him. Room is running out, these 5 stars that want to go to the NFL better sign up in a hurry or they'll be left out.

Is Marlon H Bobby's son?

Analyst Mike Farrell, who has been close to Da'Shawn Hand's camp throughout the entire process, ... offered up a tweet that suggests something might be shifting.

"Honestly if Hand picked #Alabama tomorrow I wouldn't be stunned," Farrell tweeted. "This is very close according to a great source."

Poor guy. Looks like he may........

Somehow I get the feeling that he may not like the competition he would have to play through to get playing time at Bama. He reminds me of J. Clowney when Clowney was making his decision on where to play and I still say that Clowney made a bad decision by not coming to Bama.

A friend and I were talking about Clowney this week.  He's an LSU fan (so he wanted to talk anything except their loss).  We both agreed that Clowney's stock has dropped.  Many people predicted that going to USCe would hurt his NFL draft status.  Until this year it looked like he'd be okay.  But no longer.

Now looks like he MIGHT be the first defensive player taken, but he is projected behind 3 QBs (Mariota, Bridgewater, AND Mettenberger!).

I went to their "Rivals" site this afternoon. All 3 of their posters were disappointed.  :lol2:

I work with a Va Tech graduate.  Since Hand is from Virginia and because we have also picked up other notable players from Virginia he now tells me that he officially hates Bama and refuses to talk to me any more.  Win! Win! IMO... 8)

Bama's degree requirments for Civil Engineering involve demonstrating that you can dig a hole and hammer a nail. I sure he will have plenty of time left over for football.

What makes Hand stand out is not necessarily his pure speed as an edge rusher but his overwhelming power. Hand is nearly 260 pounds of pure muscle and he's spent his high school career regularly plowing through offensive linemen on his way to the backfield. Hand is capable of adding more weight and lining up as a true 3-4 defensive end or staying about where he is and lining up at Jack linebacker. It will likely take some time for Hand to perfect his technique, something that likely hasn't been as crucial for him to succeed at the high school level, but he was widely regarded during the offseason as one of the sharpest and hardest-working prospects on the camp circuit.

With freshmen A'Shawn Robinson, Jonathan Allen and Dee Liner already contributing this year, Hand will be a part of a young but extremely talented group of players manning the defensive front for Alabama over the next few years. With a couple of years of coaching and development, that group has the potential to be one of the most dominant units ever seen in Tuscaloosa....


...With two commitments from players ranked No. 1 overall by different services (Hand and OT Cameron Robinson), it's difficult to imagine a scenario in which Alabama does not finish No. 1 in the 2014 recruiting rankings. The Tide still has two other five-star prospects on their radar in running back Leonard Fournette and cornerback Marlon Humphrey.
