Title: ESPN: Three Tide players earn All-America honors (Phil Steele)
Post by: pmull on May 27, 2011, 11:27:29 AM
Bama had 7 players on 1st, 2nd and 3rd team All-America teams. We 13 on the 1st and 2nd team All-SEC teams. Duron Carter made 2nd Team All-SEC.

Quote
A trio of Alabama players -- running back Trent Richardson, offensive guard Barrett Jones and safety Mark Barron -- have been named first-team All-Americans by Phil Steele in his annual preseason college football preview magazine, which hits newsstands on June 7.

Courtney Upshaw will lead the SEC in sacks (that is my prediction anyway). No way he is not an ALL AMERICAN.

Upshaw was 3rd team and Hightower 2nd team. Thats not bad. There ia a lot of talant at those positions around the county. They are both ready to have a huge year.

I can't imagine what Bama will be like this year if they play to their talent expectations. O man, I can't wait.

"Steele has Alabama's Duron Carter as one of his second-team All-SEC receivers. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Carter, the son of former NFL star Cris Carter, is transferring to Alabama after spending last season at Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College. Carter began his career at Ohio State before leaving for academic reasons."

Does anyone have info on this Carter kid? A 6 foot 5 inch receiver is a large target downfield. I hope he has good hands. His dad was a good one. 8)
