I saw a lot of good softball since the Regionals began last Thursday and believe me, the World Series is going to be one tough tournament. All of the teams that made it are very good and I really don't see a clear cut favorite. Arizona St is very solid but I think it is anybody's guess as to who will win it.

Hopefully Bama can have a great series and come back with the trophy but they will have to play errorless ball, mentally and physically, and have some great timely hitting.

Only two SEC teams in the field of eight. It took good teams to knock out Georia and Kentucky. Tenn did not even make it to the Super Regionals. It is going to be tough but we have experience and pitching. We will be hard to beat.

Tennessee not making it thru the regional was really a surprise to me.  Thay have some really outstanding pitchers in the Renfroe sisters.  One of them shut us out with only 2 hits if I remember correctly.  That's what makes it exciting, 'cause whoever gets hot can go all the way.

This should be one heck of a day for womens's softball, there are four games scheduled and not a clear favorite in any of them.

Bama and California kicks the tournament off at noon on ESPN2 and Bama needs this win very bad. The first game for Bama has bitten them in the past and put them in the losers bracket which is very tough to play your way through and win the championship.

C'mon ladies and get off to a good start. RTR!!!!

Hope one of you guys will do a little play by play for us working stiffs.

We will play the winner of the Oklahoma State - Baylor tomorrow (Friday) at 6:00 CDT.

If it's Ok St they will have a huge home crowd to their advantage.

Baylor beats Ok St 1-0, will play Bama Friday evening. I think it's 6 pm, not sure.

Arizona St beats Oklahoma 3-1, will play the winner of the Missouri/Florida game, that just started, tomorrow night after the Bama/Baylor game.

Florida can hit as good as any team I have seen. I say this every year.

Their coach teaches all of them to swing for distance but they can play small ball as well. Arizona St has a good hitting team as well, their game tonight might be a real show for everyone.

You mentioned small ball. Did you notice yesterday how much trouble all the teams had laying a bunt down.

Yes I did and I think Bama was the worst of them all. Jen Fenton can not square up and bunt a ball, maybe the slap hitting has messed her up. Other than the bunting, all of these teams are very good though.

IMO there is not a clear favorite. They all are good. I really like our chances.

Yes, I do to. If Get'er Dunne can keep that same composure and let Traina do the mop up work, they can win it all.

OK, it's almost gametime and I'm getting a little antsy, everybody needs to do all of their good luck stuff so we can get a big win tonight.

For those of you that didn't stay up and watch, you missed one heck of a softball game between Florida and Arizona St. The Gators had every chance in the world to win it but Arizona St pushed across a run in the bottom of the 7th to win it 6-5. They will now play Bama @ noon on Sunday.

The winner of that game will be in the double elimination finals which start Monday evening.

Jamos, if I understand the bracket correctly Cal plays Oklahoma State at 11:00 today. Loser is out and the winner plays Florida tonight at 6:00. The loser is out and the winner plays Bama tomorrow at Noon. If Bama wins they advance to the finals. If we lose we play a second game.

I don't think so, Bama and Arizona St are in the semi-finals that will be played tomorrow at noon. The Fla/Arizona St (Florida) loser plays the Californis/Ok State winner in game nine today, 6pm.

The brackets are confusing when you get down to the Sunday games.

You've got to remember I'm getting my info from the Tuscaloosa News and it's not always that reliable.

The confusing part is game 12 after game 11, they are showing Fla/Arizona St again and that can't be because that was game 9.

I know we adance to Sunday and will play at Noon. There will be 4 teams left at that point. We will play a 1 loss team. We have to beat them once to advance and they have to beat us twice.

It should be that Bama plays the winner of Baylor/ Cal since they are in the same bracket. The loser of the Baylor/ Cal game goes home.

That bracket makes sense in that the two simifinalist will take on the winner of the losers bracket on each side and not play each other until they win the loser/winner game(s), which would put that winner in the finals.  ???

Don't forget about Oklahoma, Ok State,Florida, and Missouri.  :rofl:

I agree, somehow the losers have to beat each other off until one is left and they then will play a semi-finalist either one or two games and the winner of that will advance to the Campionship.

Wow, talk about a way to open your eyes so early in the day, I had to get another cup of coffee to figure this stuff out.

I think the announces got everbody confused when they said the loser of the FLA/ASU game would play Bama Sunday.  they overlooked the fact that they drop to the losers bracket and have to win there before the make it to Sunday.   FLA may play Bama on Sun. but they've got  some more playing to do before they get there.

You are right about it being an exciting game.  As a side note, my grandaughter hit a HR off Dallas Escobedo (the ASU pitcher) at the ASA National tournament in 2008.

California eliminates Oklahoma State 6-2

....and Mizzzuri leads Okie 1-0 in the bottom of the 3rd...

Missouri up 2-0 with runners on base in the 6th. It looks like local favorites Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are going to be the first two teams out.

Missouri eliminates Oklahoma 4-1

Florida eliminates California 5-2, will play Bama tomorrow at noon. Bama needs one win to reach the finals, Florida must win twice.

Baylor eliminates Missouri 1-0 in 13 innings, will play Arizona St today

Well it's revenge time for the Tide today as they try to pay back theFlorida Gators for the last inning, walkoff homerun that beat them in their last apperance at the World Series.

Bama will have to continue with their good pitching and hope that Florida's bats have cooled off some, Florida has been crushing the ball in all of the games that they have played so far.

If Bama can get the win, they will move on to the finals that begin tomorrow night, if thay  lose, they will play Florida again at 6 pm tonight and the winner of that game moves on to the finals.

Fla beats Bama unmercifully 16-2, the two will play again at 6 pm. Hopefully Bama can make a better game out of it.

Here's hoping the second game has a better umpire. That strike zone was ridiculous.
