I get nervous when Drake is holding the football.

Henry was hanging around very close to the ball with his back turned. Needs to be careful.

We are playing our game now. Barn out if their gameplan somewhat.

They ran the exact same play about 4 or 5 times in a row.  We can't let that happen.

I think that the barn has tended to fade out in the second half of most games they've played this year.  Hopefully, that holds up in this one.

We really need to stop them on the first drive.  If they tie the game up they are going to be hard to handle the rest of the way.

Alabama is flat getting out coached. Poor play calling, poor execution and absolutely no desire. Bama has not shown anything this whole game. There is no intensity or passion. No one wants to step up and make a play.

Gus Malzahn is an elite coach, possibly better than Saban. He has taken a 3 win team and turned them into a national champion. Anyone that says Gus is over rated doesn't know football.

For the most part Auburn is playing mistake free football. A few penalties and the TO, but they are not missing many assignments, not missing tackles, playing smart. They are playing the way Bama should be playing.

Time for a 15-20 play TD drive to end this.

After seeing them stack the box I was just thinking if we run that same play we did last time from our own 1 it will probably be a safety.  Outstanding play call to go for play action instead.

We had to run on 4th because they have lost confidence in Foster. I saw him on the sidelines and he is totally gone, mentally, in my opinion. Why has Saban been putting up with Foster for 4 years?

whew we got lucky again. Alabama's CBs this year have been just plain awful. How do you let them run by you on 3rd and 19?

They're young, inexperienced and have had injuries. They'll be better next year.

He was solid this year until today.

I know you guys don't want to hear this, but Cade Foster & Nick Saban lost this game. The overall play calling was awful & tentative and do I need to say anything about Foster? Saban is still a great coach, but this was a pathetic coaching job today.

They are the luckiest SOBs I have ever seen.

No, no, I give them full credit. They played with emotion & passion and we played like a dead fish. We made an incredible number of silly, stupid mistakes and it cost us. Our biggest mistake was keeping Cade Foster around for 4 years.

As CPPB used to say:  Win with class; loose with dignity.  Hard to do at a time like this.  Don't know what else to say.

It will be tough to put on my Bama hat tomorrow, but I will do it.

Auburn played to win.  Bama played not to lose.  Sometimes that's just not enough.

Some things mystified me.  Why Bama wasn't being more aggressive, throwing the ball more when Auburn was stacking the box. Why couldn't Bama stop Auburn's running game when we knew it was coming.  Why try a 57 yard FG with a freshman instead of a Hail Mary with a Senior.  Why put all O-linemen on the field for the FG attempt, when it might come up short. 

But all that is past tense now.  Auburn won the game. 

Now we have to become Missouri/SC, Michigan State and Duke fans.

Let me see if I can imagine a scenario.  We probably need Mizzou to lose tonight since they would be ranked ahead of us if they win out.  Then we need USCe to beat Auburn next week.  That takes care of those 2.  Then we need tOSU and FSU to lose their championship games next week.  Then, maybe, just maybe we can get back in it.  Actually we only need 3 of the 4 to happen since we only have to get back up to #2.

I don't like our odds.

One possible scenario is a rematch, but that would require FSU to lose to Duke.  Not likely unless they put famous Jameis in jail this week.

Van Tiffin probably would not have made that either.  We had no business kicking it.  I have to admit that I did not anticipate that they would run it back all the way though.  I was concerned about it being blocked, especially with the low trajectory you need for a kick that long.  We should have let AJ throw it to Cooper, Norwood, White, Bell, Howard, Yeldon, somebody... anybody.

This one stings more than I can begin to express.  I left for China August 22, 2009 and have watched from the other side of the world as we rolled to three championships in four years.  I finally get home during football season, watch Game Day and the early games, settle in to watch a game on TV and this happens. 

I can't complain about a loss after three championships in four years, despite the poor play and coaching tonight.  This just sucks.

This was a team loss by the way.  I don't put it all on Foster.  He actually made the FG that would have won the game for us, but we had to take the points off the board and kick it again because of a stupid illegal procedure penalty.

My 98-0 mindset didn't help us either.  I really thought we were going to run all over them.  We certainly should have.  That is what hurts the most, knowing we did not play well at all and should have won the game easily.

Whoa! Number 1, you have zero responsibility of the Tide loss. Secondly, Foster should have made the FG no matter what. He's a senior, not a freshman. He totally choked.

He did choke.  He should have made it.  But a whole team full of other players also did not do their jobs today, and the coaches too.  The defense was pitiful, as just one example.

Ok guys, just got back in for the night. I wish I knew something to say, but words really fail me this evening. It never feels good to lose a game, worse when it is the barn, and worse still with so much riding on the outcome. I am sick about this, but here is what I know (unless the Lord comes back): the sun will rise tomorrow, taxes will still have to be paid, and the Tide WILL be back.

I just saw Saban on ESPN.  He said that Griffin makes it from 60 in practice all the time, and we had the wind at our back in the 4th quarter.  It was probably worth a shot if he can hit them in practice.

The big question is why did he keep going with Foster when we all know he's not that good of a FG kicker. I mentioned it after that awful twisting & turning dead duck he kicked that after seeing him on the sideline he looked totally out of it from a mental viewpoint and should not try another FG.

I agree with you on his body language.  He looked like he was having flashbacks to 2011 LSU.  We made several poor decisions in the 4th quarter.  We had our foot on their neck but we let them get back up.
