I walked out this morning to get in my car and start the day.  I almost fell off my front porch --- my car was sideways in the driveway.  Sometime between 6pm yesterday and this morning some (expletive deleted) idiot hit my car.

Since the policeman basically laughed at the possibility of finding the person responsible, I'm looking at being responsible for all the damages.

My plans for the weekend were to try to make it to Tuscaloosa for the final gymnastics meet and then back home and to the SEC Basketball Tourney.  Now, I'll  be here on my couch listening to the live radio feeds and wishing plagues of fire ants on the perpetrators.

Hey fire ants is a bad punishment. You sure you don't want to dig a hole and put them in it down to the neck. Putting syrup around his neck and then you can draw the fire ants. RTR!

The idiot deserves it.  He/she hit my car while it was parked in my driveway and just kept on going.  It turned my car almost a full quarter turn so it wasn't a glancing blow.

Did you like my punishment even better? lol, RTR!

Uh, digging a hole and burying isn't a good idea.  I might not stop until he was completely buried.

All you can do in that situation is pray for patience and pray for the person who hit your car. Sad that they can't own up to damaging your property.

Two choices that might help.

1.  Try to find the person.  Put up posters and ask your neighbors if they know anything.  Could be that someone saw it, or someone saw the result on their kid's car. :(  Contact the local repair shop to see if they have leads.  Ask the insurance company if they have an investigator who plans to check.  Any car parts left behind?

2.  Walk away.  Bury the memory and bury the (ant-hill) shovel.

I would also check with the local tow companies for info on tows in the general area for that night.  Sounds like it was quite a lick and there is a chance he/she didn't make it that far.  Had a neighbor years ago that the same thing happened to, but I was awake and heard the crash.  I went outside in time to see the old pickup limping around the cornor on his getaway.  I called the law, then went and woke the neighbor.  In a matter of minutes the law comes up and said they got the drunk SOB a few blocks over, the pickup gave out.

No luck so far finding the other car.  The only parts in my driveway were from my broken headlight cover.    There were some bad storms here Sat night so everyone was inside, noone saw anything.

The good news:  My Dad stopped here last night on his way home and said he and my brother will fix my car.  All I have to do is go where directed to pick up the parts and take the car to him in Tn when they have everything ready.
