Just another example of how Saban reaches out in many areas and is not afraid to listen to anyone on various subjects. I hope he's doing the same thing about special teams.

Saban has proven that he is willing and able to adapt to the game.  If I remember correctly, he consulted with several offensive gurus about the pistol set before bringing it in.  I think it would be absolute genius to bring Kiffen in on the staff.  If anyone can reign in Kiffen and set him right it would be Saban.  In the mean time, we would get one hell of an offensive mind and recruiter.  I could definitely see Drake used a lot like they used to use Reggie Bush. 

JMHO, but we'd never get the stink out of Tuscaloosa. I have absolutely no love for Kiffin. The article states that he is a guest to help CNS evaluate the offense. Guests don't stay. That's what I'm hoping for here.

Coach Saban doesn't make many mistakes with assistants.  Kiffen would be with him about as long as Major Applewhite.  Too much ego.  Picking his brain is one thing.  Hiring him another.

Kiffin must have pictures.  That is all I can think of!!  Either that or he is paying his own expenses for the trip.  Whatever, to some degree this puts the CNS-Alabama 'seal of approval' on Kiff

But getting past the Kiffin aspect of this move, doesn't it imply that CNS is not happy with the way the O performed this season?

My take on it is not that he was unhappy but, with the departure of AJ it is time to look at the style of offense we run.  Perhaps he brought Kiffin to evaluate the players to see if we are better off sticking with the Pro-style or going to the up-tempo, read option style or some other...

Well I have to say the only time i don't like someone is when they are coaching against us. I got to believe CNS has a genius spot to get more info for more structure in the offense. You win championships with defense but not for 60 minutes 12 games a year. RTR!

Sometimes it is good to get another set of eyes to evaluate.  I am sure, or hope, that Bama does self scouting to check their tendencies.  I don't think the screen was as effective this year as it has been in others.

This may not be a bad thing. Kiffin could help with the pass game. He was a pretty good play caller when he was OC. This is like self scouting, a way to check your own tendencies.
