Kinda funny. I saw the same thing happen in another video of a baseball game. It may have been an MLB game, I can't remember.

I'm all for funny but that is pathetic. It would be pathetic if the kids did it, but to have an adult role model go out to the mound and orchestrate it? He should never be allowed to supervisor or mentor another child or adolescent in his life.

To me...the video is funny.  That's why I posted the link to it.  However, I do agree that if the coach orchestrated it he should be "banned for life" simply because he is in a position to teach and lead the team to be responsible and good sports.  If the pitcher and catcher decided between themselves to do it because the ump wasn't calling strikes like they thought he should then they should have been ejected and possibly fined.

Not funny at all. Don't know what led up to the coach making the decision to do that, but nothing justifies the potential for serious injury. As on official, I know folks don't always agree with every ruling, but absolutely no reason for what I saw in this video. What did he hope to teach his players by telling them to do this?

I agree that there is no way to justify that type of thing.  However, before you condemn the coach, please remember that those are probably teenaged girls and they don't always make their decisions with wisdom.  Nothing shows definitively whether the coach ordered this or if the girls came up with it themselves.

Wow, I have never seen anything like that. I know we use to do a lot of double steals and fake bunts to steal home and such in Little League but this would have got our rears torn up big time. I wonder if there was any punishment? RTR!

I've played a lot of ball over the years and I have to say ...
yeah sure we had some bad calls ... had some good calls too ...

but no matter how bad a call was , the worst call I can remember having
never made me think of doing what they did  :dunno:

I'm not a fan of this type of behavior.  You may not agree with a call, but you have to respect the person making it.  Coach should be banned.

No way to tell who made the decision. However, I have been around youth sports long enough to know that usually it's the adults who do the really dumb stuff.
