In 1980 the SEC earned $4.1 million in revenue. Now this year it earned $220 million. This is why the Big Ten hates the SEC.

The SEC will distribute a record $220 million among its 12 member institutions this year -- an average of $18.3 million per school.

Broken down, the SEC received $113 million from football TV, $31.3 million from bowls, $15.3 million from the SEC championship game, $31.3 million from basketball TV, $5 million from the men's basketball tournament, and $24.3 million from NCAA championships.
