He played 11 years for the Braves, won 3 Cy Young Awards, and a World Series. :popcorn2: He played 7 years for the Cubs, won his first Cy Young award and had his only 20 win season before coming to the Braves. He left the Braves and returned to the Cubs for 3 more years. I am not sure it is a slam dunk he will enter as a Brave. I acknowledge he had his best years as a Brave. Title: Re: Maddux, Glavine, to HOF Post by: pmull on January 23, 2014, 03:53:05 PM Greg Maddux Hall of Fame plaque will have a blank cap (no team logo). Braves fans may not like it but I think it is a classy decision by one of baseball's good guys.
Quote “My wife Kathy and I grew up in baseball in Chicago, and then we had just an amazing experience in Atlanta with the Braves. It's impossible for me to choose one of those teams for my Hall of Fame plaque, as the fans of both clubs in each of those cities were so wonderful. I can't think of having my Hall of Fame induction without support of both of those fan bases, so, for that reason, the cap on my Hall of Fame plaque will not feature a logo.” http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/24418123/hall-of-fame-reveals-cap-selections-for-plaques-of-2014-inductees Title: Re: Maddux, Glavine, to HOF Post by: Jamos on January 23, 2014, 08:53:43 PM Finally something good came out of Atlanta.
