ESPN and NBC are also reporting Vinnie will enter the NFL draft. I hate to see him go. That makes 5 juniors leaving early.

There are too many juniors leaving when they are not ready. I wonder what they are being told in their meetings with coach.  :tinfoil:

Saban always says he encourages students to come back for their senior season unless they're projected as a First Round pick.  I think Sunseri could improve his stock by coming back.

I don't understand this one but he must know something that no one else seems to know. He will be missed.

He is projected as a 2nd / 3rd round pick this year. If he comes back and stays healthy he could improve his stock. If he comes back and gets hurt again he can kiss the NFL good bye. I think he made a business decision that removes the risk.

I hadn't heard where he was projected to go and it does make sense if he is projected that high. I wish him the best.

I think you are spot on. Vinnie will be missed greatly, but he must believe the possibility of a career-ending injury in college outweighs the positives of coming back. I think VS could be a good pickup for someone looking for a hard-hitting safety.

Personally, I don't see him as a starting safety in the NFL. More likely to be on the special teams as a regular.

I don't think Vinnie made the right call there...

Maybe his GF is pregnant.

I agree with several other posters, I just don't think he is ready and I see him as a 4th round pick, at the very best.

I hate to see him go, period. He will not be a high round pick, if he is drafted at all. I realize the fact that he would like to avoid further injury, but I don't see this as a wise decision on his part. I hope I'm wrong, but think not.

At any rate, we will miss his aggressive play and leadership.

Tough decision; he might not play had he stayed, nor will he likely play in the NFL.  :dunno:

Based on this year, I would say that Vinnie is more prepared to go pro than Cyrus, Dix, Pagan, or Hubbard, but that's just me.

I'm a little surprised you think Vinnie is better than HaHa. I see HaHa being a potentially solid NFL player. In fact, he's the only one I feel is going to make it in the NFL.

I suppose that beyond considerations of where a kid might be drafted this year must be a consideration of whether coming back for a year would improve a player's stock. Maybe he was advised that his chances are as good now as they will ever be.

Vinnie Sunseri to FSU? Maybe?

Quote

In these days of rumors, we are hearing that Vinnie Sunseri wants to leave Alabama. He may want to go to Florida State, where his father, Sal Sunseri, is an assistant coach and his former Bama position coach, Jeremy Pruitt, is defensive coordinator. FSU is no doubt feeling its oats with its recent national championship.

Or he may want to enter the NFL draft. Players have until Wednesday to declare for the draft.

He has earned his degree from The University, so he can transfer without having to sit out a year.

I hate to see him do this, he has had a wonderful carer at Bama and the fans love him. Is there a problem internally with some of the players? Tenpenny was 3 days late coming back to school and his HS coach made a statement that everything was ok. :dunno:

Apparently there was a family illness that delayed Tenpenny. Supposedly all legit.

Hmmm, I just found it a little strange for the coach to be involved and then Vinnie isn't going pro afterall but transfering to another school.

You may be right, but I don't think Vinnie will go to FSU. I think he will test his waters in the draft. If that doesn't work out he will probably make a good position coach or at least a grad asst. The stuff about Tenpenny is stuff I read on other forums, so that may be just rumors. Anyway, things will most likely unfold as we get closer to NSD, I would think.

Here's what we (think we) know thus far:

1. Vinnie is upset, uphappy, etc. ;
2. Vinnie may go to the NFL (unlikely);
3. Vinnie may transfer to FSU (less unlikely);
4. Vinnie will meet with CNS this week to discuss options, resign, or ask for transfer leniency.

I hear Vinnie got a little po'd at CNS back during the season and there are all kinds of rumors as to what the reason was. He and CNS either met today or it's tomorrow. Sunseri has until tomorrow night at midnight to declare for the NFL draft.

Aaron Suttles thinks there will be more changes to the roster in the coming days and at least one more coaching change.

I've heard that it could be the Dback coach Greg Brown.

Man we have more stories going on after season than we ever did during season. I thought Vinnie loved it here at Alabama. Has he come to hate us now? He is not ready in my opinion to fight the talent in the NFL. RTR!
