Title: UA baller or not, just tell yourself Tuscaloosa Police know best Post by: Jamos on January 27, 2014, 06:24:20 PM Say it to yourself:
Tuscaloosa Police know best. Say it out loud. Preach it 'til you believe it: TUSCALOOSA POLICE KNOW BEST. Just pray it's true. Because they get the badge and they get the gun and they – as Alabama cornerback Tony Brown found out the other week – get the pepper spray. And you get – well, you just get the choice of believing them or – go stuff yourself. The Tuscaloosa Police Department peppered Brown this month, then arrested him on charges of resisting arrest and failure to obey. Then the department issued a press release telling its side of the story: that he got what he deserved. And maybe he did. The department would not, however, turn loose of his arrest report, or a report of any kind. Sgt. Brent Blankley said, in essence ... that's all you're gonna get. http://www.al.com/opinion/index.ssf/2014/01/ua_baller_or_not_just_tell_you.html#incart_2box Title: Re: UA baller or not, just tell yourself Tuscaloosa Police know best Post by: Chechem on January 27, 2014, 06:42:55 PM I remember fighting those TPD bastids on University Boulevard in May of 1970. My roommate came back with bruises and a police flashlight. I got a lesson in dealing with cops.

Right or wrong they have authority and can get you in a lot of trouble. My motto is the cop is always right... unless you are in front of a judge.

Cops aren't always right, but they are cops, and judges tend to believe them over who they've arrested. I can see a little of the Tallahassee PD in this. :dunno:

Trouble is, that feeds into their already inflated ego, at least for that small percentage of cops with that problem. So I just say nothing. |
