I really don't like this idea. Having divisions is exciting from the fan perspective.

Plus like some of the comments said if you take the AL's top five every year, then it will be much of the AL East every year. At least as it is the other teams have SOME chance of making the playoffs.

Exactly! Playing for a division title (and playoff berth), build excitement all across MLB. It gives teams like Anaheim, Cincinatti, Florida, KC, Pittsburgh, Oakland, & other small market teams a chance to make the playoffs and have somthing to show for their efforts, like the divisonal title.

I like it as it is now. I think adding the wild card a few years ago was a good move. They need to be careful or they are going to mess it up.

I really believe this could be the kiss-of-death for teams like Pittsburgh, Oakland, Milwaukee, KC, & others.

I think you're right. I understand that the league wants to make the most amount of money possible, but if it is the same 5-7 teams each year, that is going to get boring in a hurry.

Yeah, MLB is so desperate that the Yankees and Red Sox make every playoff, they are selling the rest of the teams down the river. This will definitely backfire and I dn't think the players union will approve.

Well that was the way it was back in the 60's and 70's and they didn't like it at all. They wanted the divisions so bad for more excitement now they are going to move it back like the old days, I think that is a bad idea. RTR!
